  1. I just checked the Constants file and the conf_global ... and then did an entire file system search for IN_DEV and didn't find any reference to it.

in my constants though ... redis is enabled ... I don't think I enabled it ... can I turn it off ?  could that be an issue?

So this is when my problem started .. .my CPANEL did some kind of update on MySQL server ... and then because of some kind of configuration issue wouldn't start.  So it was installed again and the database was restored from a backup.  I changed the username / password in conf_global ... and now it is giving me a different 500 error from the PHP logs that I started this thread with.

I don't see any IN_DEV in any files.

  2. I didn't see a fix though ...

We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now.

DirectoryIterator::__construct(/path/public_html/dev/js/library): Failed to open directory: No such file or directory

You can try again by clicking the button below, or try again later.

    This is the issue.

  3. Hello,

My server went down and I've got it up and running again but I can't access to troubleshoot ... this is what the logs is telling me ...

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Attempt to assign property "timezone" on null in /path/system/Member/Member.php:211 Stack trace: #0 /pahth/public_html/system/Log/Log.php(107): IPS\_Member::loggedIn() #1 /path/public_html/init.php(1033): IPS\_Log::log('SELECT * FROM `...', 'uncaught_except...') #2 [internal function]: IPS\IPS::exceptionHandler(Object(IPS\Db\Exception)) #3 {main} thrown in /home/wboards/public_html/system/Member/Member.php on line 211

    What's the issue?  thanks,

    George

  4. Hello,

I currently move all threads that are "removed" to a sub-forum called "Deleted Threads" which is simply kept as a record.  I'd like a modification that simply states, any thread in this FORUM ... has a customized message ... such as ... This thread has been removed by the Administrators.

Right now, if someone goes to look at a thread, they simply get a "You do not have permission to view this topic", I'd like to create a specialized message for any thread in a certain forum to be altered.

Is there a modification that has been created for this purpose?

    Thanks,

    BB

Testing this on your community, I am seeing the URL which is in the ACP present and the emoticon image is showing up. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?

If you're still seeing it, could you please provide a URL to the topic/post which you're seeing this?

Yes it was a browser cache issue.  Strange the browser cache stored the 'location' of the old emoticons instead of using the new CDN.

  6. Hello,

I changed to a new CDN network as MaxCDN was bought out by StackPath.  I changed my file settings, however, my custom emoji are still showing the old cdn path.  And now, when posting emoji, the emoji shows up on the editor, but when you submit the post ... it shows the URL to the old CDN and the emoticon is not displaying.

I've already cleared system caches several times, and I did a server reboot.

I do not have any redis cache installed, and simply running the file system.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  7. Hello,

I wanted to test to make sure everything is working before I officially repoint the nameservers to my current server.  I went to change the conf_global.php to the temp domain in the multiple places in the file to see if it is working ... but it keeps going to my domain.

How can I check to make sure everything is working on a temp domain before I repoint my nameservers?

    Thanks!

IPB blows Wordpress out of the water in terms of community functionality.

The problem is that I have THOUSANDS of pages -- in excess of 100,000+ pages of content across a dozen or so sites.  It's not gonna happen.  Besides I have perfect GTMetrix scores for speed, etc.

It was something that Invision had already set up before ... it used to be on several football team sites.  It was an "enterprise" solution only.

My two cents: because bridging two independent software products is usually a bad idea. You have 3 pieces of software to deal with: Software A, software B and the third-party bridge. It might be called “seamless”, but it never really is. Anytime you install an update to software A or B things can break and you need to hope that the third-party offering the bridge can fix it in time. And since they are usually small companies, they might simply stop offering the bridge altogether in the future and then you are completely screwed.

I get it ... but if Invision actually provided it themselves ... can you imagine the opening you'd have?  30% of the web is on WordPress based sites!   It's not as if it's going to go away .. it's really a no brainer as far as setting up an entire revenue stream!

  10. Hello,

I'm still wondering how it is that the BEST forum software still hasn't figured out how to INTEGRATE its forums into Wordpress nice and neatly?  When one considers that 30% of the web runs on WordPress ... it ought to be a NO-BRAINER to have a seamless integration?

Look at how XenForo has a nice tight integration?  And there is no way that Xenforo can top Invision... or can it?

    https://www.themehouse.com/xenforo/2/addons/xpress

Honestly, will someone please create a NICE tight INTEGRATION between two great software pieces?

    Thanks,

    BB

Is Facebook login working for you personally? If so, have you reached back out to Facebook to describe the error they are experiencing? A few have come into support that were caused by third party items installed, manual IP bans, etc... My personal site got sent this because the Facebook tester was in a country I block on my personal server. Ultimately, getting the exact error from Facebook will help you narrow down what they're experiencing then if it is an application error, it can be possible to get the date/time or IP address that they accessed from to see what error they are encountering.

    No it's not ...
