  1. With IPB 3.0.3 Upgrade, IPS Staff identified the following Hooks:

    (T30) Bump Up Topics
    (DP30) Top Reputation
(T30) Show Reputation in Topic View
    (IM) Users Awaiting Validation
    (IM) Global Forum Message
    (IM) Sliding Quick Login

I just think it's a sorry excuse to say you only support the IPB 3 upgrade errors associated with IPS Created Hooks. The fact is that IPB is supported by third party mods. One would think that this problem would have been dealt with by now. This makes the third time I have had to uninstall these hooks and reinstall them. IPB UPgrades are supposed to be trouble free and work with Skins and Hooks that are already installed.

I hate to say this, as I have enjoyed the forum software, but these excuses are vein and the lack of support in trying to fix this problem has yet to be corrected. You would think that these problems would have been fixed by now.

  2. IPS Staff: I hate to say this but the IPS Upgrades are becoming a real inconvenient Annoyance.

What am I talking about? Everytime there is a service update to IPB (2.0.1, 3.0.2, etc) the upgrade creates havok with the hooks that I have installed. Not only do I have to disable the hooks, but, they have to be un-installed and then re-installed. The upgrades are not anticipating already installed hooks and adjusting for them and it's becoming an annoyance.

Does IPS plan on fixing this problem or is this going to be a regular 'romp and stomp' action with every upgrade/update? For one, I would love to see this corrected.

  3. Is IPS resetting the bugs for IPB 3.0.3? I just had my forums upgraded and when I click on Today's Active Topics I get the following error:

Active content in the last %s

Now, this is the same error I reported with IPB 3.0.1. This bug was fixed for 3.0.2. Now, IPS has returned that bug with 3.0.3?

  4. Guys, I came across a bug associated with the IPS forums. When I do a member search for ".L.O.O.N.3.Y." which is someone distributing IPB and Premium Skins software on a warez website I get the following error (the error appears in the header section, where the head banner is supposed to be):

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/forumsi/public_html/admin/applications/members/modules_public/list/view.php on line 457

I thought this might be the name of a registered member here on the IPS forums.

  5. Charles, my bad. This was just to inform the rest of the IPB community of the problem as well. Apparently, it was the initial release of the update. I think that maybe I should have waited before I asked for the 3.0.2 update. Today's update literally shut down my forums ... <_<

  6. bfarber, I've discovered the problem that I have been posting about. Apparently the first version of the IPB 3.0.2 update that IPS posted contained errors in the original code. Apparently, it affected several areas of the forum software which included an Action Topics bug as well as problems regarding the clickable post icons siuch as emoticon, weblink, email link, image link, etc.

IPS tried to update my forums with a newer version of the update but the update halted my forums. Josh, from IPS Support, has escalted the problem among IPS and I'm hoping that this issue is resolved soon.

I'm just glad that this wasn't my imagination. This time around it was the IPB Update that caused the problem with my forum software. At least I can laugh about now and withdraw my request to be admitted into Bellevue.

  7. This is really getting on my nerves. The IPS Developers have been doing a great job on IPB3 but it seems that IPB3 still suffers from a bug I reported way back when IPB3 was in Beta Testing. The Numbered Lists still do not work. It doesn't matter if you're using the editor in the ACP or whether you're posting a message. It just does not work ... Is there any reason why it still does not work because I reported this as a bug in Beta 2,3,4,5 RC 1,2 and 3F, 3.0.1. Now that IPB 3.0.2 has been released, it still isn't working right.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

  8. Something has been bothering me about IPB and I'm wondering why certain web browsers "view" or "read" forums powered by IPB differently.

What I'm referring to is the fact that, at least in my testing of IPB in various browsers, that Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox displays IPB software with rounded borders and corners while Internet Explorer and Opera displays IPB with sharp or 'square' corners. It's kind of strange that the IPB software cannot tell the difference between the various web browsers.

Is there a reason for this because it's somewhat confusing and strange that IPB is being read different among each web browser.

  9. No. That's not what he's referring to.

He's talking about a feature that was in 2.3 that when you looked at the Today's Active Topics that you could change the option from "24 hours" to as long as "One week" to "Two week." That selector, or drop down box is gone from IPB 3.

  10. Just do a search for one or look at IPS Resources. It's nto neccessary to post such a list becauseit's extensive. You could always do a Google search for a list like I did and just copy and paste it into IPB.
