  1. Sorry I should note, last night DirectAdmin wanted me to update Redis which I did. I believe this is the second time of doing that though.
  2. I had it working fine, but today I woke up to a message saying Redis is not configured. I have since lost the option to use it. I am using DirectAdmin (not cPanel). The commend to see if Redis is work, said that it wasn't found and further below mentioned it was running. I have since managed to get it to report as it's running, but I still have no options to use it.
  3. Did you ever release it?
  4. Thanks, Marc for confirming and updating this. Fingers crossed.
  5. The issue was reported on July 1st, 2022 and remains unresolved. 😮 And mentioned to be in version 4.5.
  6. I have been meaning to report this bug for a while, as I think it's an overlook due to the feature being phased out. However, when you read statuses in a user profile and then choose to reply. It hangs on 'Saving.....' The message is successfully posted, but it doesn't show until you refresh. As I say, it just hangs.

Twitter (X) is shown exactly like this, not inline with the others.
  8. @SeNioR-: Did you ever get anywhere with this?

This is something you absolutely must take on the chin, and whilst I understand your point - it is not always possible to provide visible updates to everyone and nor will everyone read them. There are updates on Michael John's site, albeit a bit old, but I don't believe he's someone who would just walk without trying to address things. If you managed to get your money's worth from the app, then that's at least one good thing. I would definitely recommend purchasing Adriano's app. Yet anything in the real world can and will happen, it's not always as simple as leaving updates and as you mention. Devs won't simply give their resources away for free; it takes a dev to pick them up and to pay a fee for them. In most cases, I think it's more common to see a new resource created from scratch. Keep in mind that some Dev's have died, others have left in bad ways, but Michael is between this as far as I can tell. Whatever has his focus must be very important to him. I get what you are saying, but it's not something to be expected. It's a gamble on our part; you pay for the resource as it stands and Michael is one of those devs who add features to improve his work without additional fees. Whilst an explanation to say "I am unable to provide updates for the foreseeable future." would be nice. There are no guaranteed expectations. I don't think we as clients have that right either, at least not to demand it. As I say, I get the frustration, but I sway more towards concern than outrage.
  10. Seriously, I searched! I searched 'cache' in the guide and found nothing. Thanks, @Adriano Faria and @Nathan Explosion. It's not very helpful though. What extensions should there be?
  11. I am told it's installed, but the options greyed out to me. I can't find any help files on this.
  12. I have to say, whilst I aim to remain on v5. I do love the design and freshness of the upcoming version; it seems a lot more modern and polished. There's a lot of great work in the product. I'm hoping that there's no real issue down the line with hooks, which gives us more control over where things go etc.
  13. Yes, three levels in depth. You have a parent tab, then a secondary underneath that but after it goes red. You can't have a depth of 3 levels, which means you can't expand on items much further.
  14. I used to have tabs that followed quite an in-depth structure, but I can't replicate this with 4.7.13. Tab -Tab --Tab Item 1 --Tab Item 2 --Tab Item 3 --Tab Item 4 The drop-down option, I don't like. I don't think all visitors will realise you have to press on it. I don't see any means of going beyond the depth of two links. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, I have since moved to a new video app. However, I still hold @Michael.J with high regard and I do hope he's not left IPS. I wish him well. Thank you, to @Adriano Faria for helping fix some of the issues I encountered, although unfortunately I wasn't able to edit videos. I would suggest any others who rely on the video system to take a look at https://www.invisioneer.org/ or https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/file/290-videos-directory/. 👍
  16. Has it been explained why signatures have been disabled here? I used mine to promote apps and plugins I used, something which I believed shined a bit of a spotlight towards people who made IPS' that extra bit special. I might be one of the few, who misses reading them too.
  17. I've always had great experiences with Shahed, Some of the work is an important part of my community and I appreciate their openness to my suggestions on improvements. There's a lot of great work here which brings out IP.Pages and gives you a more productive experience when producing content.
  18. I can't call Dave, Dave. Sorry Nathan. Just to vouch for this service, over the years I have used things developed by Nathan Explosion, and I have never felt anything less than grateful for such a professional approach. I don't recall any custom work, although there has been times when useful advice has been given to errors and advice. One of the IPS community's most influential figures.
  19. I like a lot of what I am seeing about v5. However, I have no immediate plans on upgrading and my other site, I pulled down to focus on my main project full time. Unfortunately, as a hobbyist I don't think IPS is geared towards smaller sites any more. It's by far the best out there, but there are so many costs involved if you want to make it a bit more serious than just a forum pretending to be a site. I've been with IPS since the very beginning, started my forum with IPB. One day, I hope to have the time and money to bring back the projected end, that has far more potential to be bigger but with how life is in the UK - among health, it's just too much. I'm very envious of those who can upgrade, in a good way. It does certainly look like a great set forward and @Ehren is a great asset here. Though, I do miss @Rikki (I hope I mentioned the right account). I didn't realise that Rikki might look a lot like Gynn Jacob to me. 👀
  20. Working with All Astronauts was a great experience. They were prompt and joyful to work with. I have several of his apps and plugins, all work great. I would highly recommend.
  21. Very reliable with custom coding and for his own work. Always happy to assist in a prompt way and one of the earliest dev's I remember from the days of having to manually make edits for modifications to work. Excellent option if you seek work.
  22. @Marc Stridgen: Could I please request that IPS update my sites live url to include HTTPS instead of http://. 🙂 I actually thought of this after and the results are the same as my live and dev site. Which is odd. I'll just report back to the dev. Thank you.
  23. I need to try a fresh install, to see if an app works in my environment without any other plugins or applications installed. However, I have an active dev site which is in use by another dev. Would it be possible to briefly use a test.mydomain instead of the dev.mydomain and then switch back once I have completed my tests.
  24. I managed to set up a Cronjob where the tasks seem to update, but it didn't help resolve the reason why I wanted to make the switch. I also checked the /var/ there's no log folder. Just one for cpanel. 😞
  25. It doesn't seem to be running, but I can do it manually. I'm not sure how to proceed from here?
