New website!
When I signed in just now on my phone, I got an error message about having an invalid client ID. I tried to sign into the forums, but was taken to the client side. I was signed in to the client area, but upon returning to the forums I wasn't. Second time of trying got me in, but it's worth mentioning.

Some of them look ace, and really show the benefits/power of Invision 5x.

New website!
Exceptional use cases or large IC Communities should be included. It's a badge for both Invision and for the site that the partnership between software and client. Though it's probably enterprise and some cloud-based sites (not being sarcastic or funny). One has bit the dust... https://forum.corsair.com/forums/topic/194120-notice-forums-closing-august-29th-2025/

New website!
Just so you are aware, the popup first/last post on the main forum index page doesn't load. I should say the topic preview feature.

New website!
Can the user header element please be placed next to the search on the right? I think some of the graphics could be themed around the dark mode, rather than bright white. It takes some of the contrast, and makes it a little harder to take in at first glance. Some of the images are nicely themed in, but others not so much. Ehren is doing a top job, as is everyone else behind Invision.

Keep getting this update banner, but it just goes to this forum and doesn't update...
I think it happens when the browser thinks the upload hasn't been successful, when it has. At least, this is when I see it happening the most. When my internet isn't the best, and then the image still attaches.

It's the image attachement messing up, it does this from time to time. It seems a bug.

5.0.17 is now available!
It took me 3 attempts to upgrade to 5.0.18, the upgrade would just randomly stop. No errors, or anything. Also, the last two versions have seen part of the upgrade progress bar shrink and go out of the area. I wished I had managed to get a screenshot, but that part progressed quicker.

Thank you to the Invision team for all their hard work on the beta and the next upgrade.

5.0.17 is now available!
I like that the changelog shares exactly what is for what separately, so there's no confusion, but I do wish the topics for new release would outline them based on cloud and classic. There's a lot to take in, and whilst I enjoy reading what is new. (Creator Pro, Team, Business, Enterprise) in the smallest way possible doesn't really bring people's attention to it. You are drawn into the images, and people often skim. I must admit when I first read the first post I didn't realise. I'm not really a fan of small print, especially since I do struggle to see at times and I think Invision should probably open up with either Cloud based changes or Classic. The workflow seems a great idea, I am not too bothered because there's many ways to handle this without the feature. I am pleased to see 5.0.17 beta released. I think v5 is a great release.

Thank you for confirming. 👍

5.0.14 is now available!
There is a self-hosting script on GitHub which doesn't have the limits, but I don't know how practical it is to host or even if Invision supports it. 5.0.14 is now available!
Genuine question, is Iframely cloud exclusive?

5.0.13 is now available
It happens for me in the latest Firefox release and Chrome (both are updated). Could it be resolution based?

5.0.13 is now available
@Matt @Ehren The new menu effect does make a huge difference when using mobiles. However, have either of you tried changing themes? This happens on every site since the release of the menus, but I am using @Cedric V's Invisionite site as an example because it lists multiple themes. Before, it used to pop into view, but now it opens up beneath and doesn't look right at all. Some of the menus could adjust to fit better, too. Such as the forum actions menu.

5.0.13 is now available
Always appreciate the effort that goes into releasing the updates. Fingers crossed a future version will include these. I still think the featured page could do with a review, as previously mentioned, as it feels forgotten.

5.0.12 Released
The favicon has settled for me, but it's great to see it included among the fixes. As for the PWA, it's an awesome feature. Well done, everyone! 👏🏻👏🏻

Invision Community 5: Tagging Reinvented
Are tags now pre-defined? Meaning they can't be created from the front end?? I only seldomly used the tags previously, but I had them set to be allowed by certain users to create new ones, and who could add them.

Improving the Mobile App Experience
Just a few things, @Ehren @Matt. Members of my community are saying they only get @ notifications; one user says they never get notifications when new articles are published, for example. The user does have it set for new articles to be sent as notifications. Are there any improvements for Android-based devices in terms of the splash screen and the size of the image in which it is displayed? (same for iOS really, at least for the logo size, but I do see they can have a cool background, as I have seen other site owners share theirs). The PWA inclusion is a massive boost for my community, v5 has seen huge benefits and importantly my members love it.

Guest view limits
I think @DawPi has expressed that his app will be upgraded to v5, which limits guests views.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
There have definitely been moments when I've felt unhappy, but I believe we can justify the inclusion of certain features through reasoning. Invision has always been my favourite forum solution; I once almost left back when the lifetime licenses were being torn up, but Pages and the suite's advancements won me over in the long term. We can either accept that we won't get certain features, make a case for them, or just sulk. I am not suggesting anyone in this feedback discussion is sulking, but I have seen it before in previous posts where f-bombs have been dropped and people seem to think that being rude is going to make people listen to them. There are entry-level and second-level cloud clients expressing their desire for the "quests" feature. They have every right, but as cloud packages get improved, some features might filter down. It seems unlikely us self-hosted clients will see it, because it's clearly an idea Invision believes will attract people to the third level of cloud hosting. So, what points can we raise where Invision may listen to us? Believe me, I have had bad times when I haven't managed to put myself over well. I understand your disappointment, because I was too when I realised that a super useful new feature would be cloud-clients only. I hear you; I don't recall reading it, and it was listed within the upgrade benefits, which is why Invision should make sure clients only see the updates they will get to avoid further confusion. Even if a blog or post had said it, it's not a great idea to list it as a benefit for upgrading when it's not going to be there. It's the same feeling a lot of self-hosted clients feel when they see a new feature, but it turns out to be cloud-hosting only. There has been talk in the past that has explained why a feature has been omitted from self-hosting; many, such as the live features, make sense. Others, like "Quests," do leave you scratching your head. All companies make difficult decisions and have to balance the happiness of everyone. We do the exact same thing when we try to please our members within our communities, and that can be a challenge. So, if Invision doesn't listen to the feedback. If they remain on course with keeping it feature-locked, the only thing I can say is try to voice reasons why you want it. The last alternative is to find a third-party dev who could make a more comprehensive feature, and you could go as far as improving what quests would do. This is a real thing to consider, but it might displease the Invision gods. That's not sarcasm, but I would like to point out that there's always an element of copying or taking on ideas. Many third-party ideas have ended up as core features over the years. Some alternatives to cloud-hosting features are already available third-party. Social media has significantly influenced much of what we have observed from version 3.4 onward.

Self-Hosted or Step Child? 5.0.10
I do think when self-hosted clients upgrade, no feature that isn't available should be listed as a new feature. I hoped quests would be useful to me and my community; it sounded fun, and while I hope it does, it comes down to client-based users. I don't think it will, and as good as v5 is, there need to be features that continue to attract people who want to host their own site and have full control over it. For me, the cloud is too expensive. Invision does need to come up with ways to encourage clients onto the cloud, but it does seem at times that the most exciting parts are cloud-only. It's why a common joke is to insist everything be a cloud-only feature. There are going to be improvements for us, and there will be for cloud customers. We all have the same goals at the end of the day: to see Invision improve. Being balanced is a good thing; reconsidering what cloud features could be self-hosted probably happens more often than we know. I understand why there's a need to encourage cloud customers, but at the same time it's disappointing. I don't recall seeing that "quests" was just for cloud users, but I may have missed it. It did get my hopes up.

Invision Community 5.0.10 Released
Why not see if knowledgable community members can assist with the documentation, then have a staff member review it before updating? There's always willing helpers within a community, that would assist in those areas where time is restrained for those who take on more time consuming tasks. I am sure there's capable people who can at least take some of the strain off you guys, the amount of things you do will always leave some areas difficult to update. Eagrly awaiting the release of 5.0.10. 😁
