For those that don't want it, it could be turned off. For those that argue, it should be something a third-party Dev picks up. The hook in v5 doesn't exist, so @Adriano Faria can't upgrade his resource that brought it. Reactions exist in every other area where comments are, except messages.

I have asked about Live Topics, and Leaderboard Notifications. @Adriano Faria should be upgrading his videos application, which is excellent and very well maintained. I can imagine most will be picked up, or newer ideas introduced based on Michael John's work.

Possibly not useful, though I'm trying. On my Android devices, there's no line and all looks good.

I'm thankful to see this, it's a great touch. I do miss the toggle option on the index, but again, hopefully someone can pick this up - @DawPi. 😉 Provided there's a hook for it. 🙏🏻

It’s going to take some getting used to, as when I noticed it earlier I felt surprised to see it. It’s a huge difference compared to v4, you soon start to miss some of the things you used which aren’t there now. This was the only site, where I liked toggling the forums to show as one index. That said, it’s looking good.

Provided it doesn't change to v5 beta 12, bring it on. I have my toes and fingers crossed for Sunday, so I can win the unofficial sweepstakes. 😇 The competition is on... @Marc. PS. Is it too late to make suggestions? (Not that I would think certain ideas would make it into early versions of v5)

The default templates for the pages' app are modified; I have no way of reverting them (as previously mentioned). I can delete them, but I wouldn't want that. My question is, if I can't revert the changes, how do I get the default templates back? 🙂

Yes, I have resolved this now. Likewise with the notifications, there was leftover traces of a plugin in my database. How do I get hold of the new templates, if I can't revert them? Thanks, Marc.

Just pointing out also: Due to having modified the default templates in the pages application, my upgrade doesn't come with v5's and there's no way to revert them. I can 'delete' but that reads as if it will remove the template completely, which I assume it does.

According to Google: As of November 3, 2024, Threads had over 275 million monthly active users. As of November 19, 2024, Bluesky had over 20 million users. No Threads? I'm not arguing about why it isn't listed; I'm just a bit surprised. I try not to show bias to social networks. Some of my community urged me to drop Twitter after it became X and more so when people took up Blue Sky. I don't mind Threads personally, it's not for everyone and I do prefer Blue Sky, but it would be good to see Threads listed here.

I accidentally mentioned to my community that the next update should include support for Blue Sky embeds. Some members share their links frequently and ask me about it from time to time. It's almost like asking Invision for an estimated time of arrival on a version release. 😅 Version 4.7.20 will be a good update. It's nice to see many fixes and changes to Musk's personal playground.

With my current development site on v5, I'm having issues where the pages app won't become my default app. It also redirects me to the "All Activity" page. In previous versions, everything seemed okay except for the errors caused to the footer. The rest were due to third-party template changes. The notifications don't work; they show up, but just keep spinning. I know there is limited support. I'm not in a hurry to upgrade, but I want to see my site in v5, so I can make a healthy decision about upgrading. I particularly want to see how the store functions. Should I wait for future updates? I'm mindful that the last time I tried to back up and re-import my site into my development subdomain, it caused issues with my main site. I also want to help find bugs. I don't think my current environment has bugs, but issues from the upgrade.

The merchandise I sell, I handle personally for shipment. I list the items, and they are available for purchase. When I sell an item, I check that I have received the payment. I take the name and address, write them on a label, and package the item. If it is something from a print-on-demand service, I take the postcode, and check that the address and name are correct before shipping. For me, commerce provides the transaction and sale of goods. I do not currently have it configured to send an email about the order, but this is something I should do. It seems that version 5 would not affect any of this. However, I am unsure if I will be notified by email of sales or see the notification icon within the ACP. I am also unsure if emails will be sent out to confirm a purchase. I assume they will, considering how purchasing renewals work. I am not in a rush to upgrade. Initially, I was not considering it, as I was unsure about what had been removed in version 5 and how the removal of plugins would affect things. However, I now want to try it out. Selling merchandise significantly helps me keep my site's costs manageable, especially with the cost of living. My main site has been running for 13 years, although other projects have not been as successful. As someone who started using the internet when forums were very popular and a great way to communicate online, I am keen to ensure my existing site continues. We are a very niche community, but I have always felt that we are better with Invision. @Gary has been a great help, and as a former employee, he is a credit to the Invision Community.

Thanks for your reply, @Matt. I appreciate your response. I'm still a bit unclear about whether extensions can be used for the checkout process in v5. Could you please clarify if it's possible for a third-party provider to implement their own shipping application or any other extensions for the checkout process? I am willing to seek third-party help to restore the features removed from Commerce. However, having this information will help me decide whether to continue testing and familiarising myself with the next major release, keep with 4.7, or look for other solutions.

This happened with me, provided the third-party apps/plugins are disabled prior to upgrading everything is okay with that process. Are you errors related to the header and footer? These seem to be two persistent problems for me. PS. Apologise about suggesting to delete the PayPal gateway process, it worked for me and I haven't had issues with the dev site. Yet I probably shouldn't have included it.

I had this exact error message when I forgot to disable the third-party apps/plugins I used. Are you sure you've done this? The upgrade was flawless for me when I remembered to do this key step.

Sorry, it can automatically be corrected provided you remember to disable the apps and plugins. Otherwise, you can't get passed it.

Yes, I do use Redis. I bet this is it. It might explain why both sites have also got licence issues now. 😕 I know, I am not in any rush. I'm going to try to get the live site backup. I just don't want to make it more of a minefield, but I have all the data I need.

Actually, didn't upgrade my live site but the dev. Yet, it has gone all pear shaped. 😱 The live site is a complication of me screwing up somewhere along the way.

Hello, Miss_B. Yes, both versions have their own database. I made sure to change the dev's to point to its database, but for some reason it seems to have caused an issue with the live site. I am seeing similar errors, such as the theme suggesting it's out of date and to run the support tool. Logging into the ACP, it's all just text. I must have missed something, though I had done this process twice before trying to get the dev site to work with the beta of v5 (10) without hiccups to the live site. It's like the applications/plugins aren't enabled and that they are throwing errors. I could get a server log, but most pages are throwing errors now. The ACP throws this error, I have removed any reference to my site or install location.
