David N. Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I've started writing articles in Pages and would like to have other members write articles. What's the best way to give them permissions so that they can write articles? Can I have them write and see their own hidden articles but not mine, and can I be the only one allowed to unhide the article?
Nathan Explosion Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 If your database has categories, you can make use of the following settings which are at the category level - "Set custom permissions" to ON, and "Users can see..." to OFF: And then provide that group of people access to add records in a new category - they can crack on with creating their own articles, you can then move them to a different category once ready to go. Solution opentype Posted October 13, 2023 Solution Posted October 13, 2023 Just for the sake of completeness: the official solution is … Turn on “Moderate new records” in the database settings Assign an “author group” to the users Change the database permissions to allow “add record” for this group David N. and Marc 2
David N. Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Thanks a lot! My Article database does not use categories, so I'm going to follow @opentype's suggestions.
