Repeated error in error_log linked to a file in the uploads directory

Hello, 🙂

When looking at the logs, I found an error repeated hundreds of times. Here it is :

I see "images" and "thumb", so I suppose this is an image ?

How can I fix this error ?

There isnt an error message there. Thats just a location. What log are you seeing this in? If its your server error logs, you need to find out what the error message itself is. If you are unsure how to do this, please contact your hosting company who will be able to advise

The is the only error of this type and it repeated dozens of times everyday@. Why, in your opinion, should the server deny access to this file only ?

You would need to check your server's configuration. Your server is denying access to whomever is accessing that file.

It’s most likely a file ownership or a file permission setting that is the problem. As Jim noted, that would be a server issue that would be addressed outside of IPS and most likely with your host.

Yes, that's what I thought first, but permissions and files are ok (and it's an image, a thumb file, and another files are ok, so nothing important - my uploads directory is 54 Gb big).

Does the file have a different owner or group versus other files?  (For example other files owned by “apache” and this file owned by “nobody”.)

Please check items like mod_security or securi, as those could cause what you are seeing there
