Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 19, 20223 yr For some reason, when I create a new RSS, it wont let me choose the forums I want to include... So I have to go with all.... So when I use the RSS from my community forums in my company website, it also includes private content, from private, read only or closed club forums. Is there a way to change that, so that I only include public content in my rss? Help appreciated... I just fixed this by copying the rss link using a regular community membership, not mi administrator account.
February 20, 20223 yr Community Expert You have the “all” checkbox selected. If you uncheck “all”, can you select individual forums?
February 20, 20223 yr Author Solution I did that but I could not select any of them still. I checked RSS availability on forums and it was enabled. The problem was permission. I had not given permission to each individual topic to be shared with guests. Thank you Randly. I appreciate the patience.
February 21, 20223 yr Community Expert Please do post up within our suggestions area if you wish to see more items added on the RSS as you mentioned above. Glad to see you found the solution to your issue with being able to select. If you ever see anything whereby an item is not able to be selected like that, it will tend to be either permissions or that the type of item cannot be used in that area. So they would always be the first 2 things to check
February 22, 20223 yr Author @Marc Stridgen, the solution I found for this was to open my community, since registration was needed to comment. RSS exports of streams are not available if your community is closed and requieres registration, even with guest permission. I use an RSS export from my community to my website bi5on.com, so I had to open my community. RSS on my website: When this is fixed in Invision Community I would like to close my community with a registration wall. Thanks
