Posted October 4, 2021 Share Posted October 4, 2021 We purchased the Illuminate theme because we thought it offered a feature to allow categorizing topics but looks like it just categorizes forums? My goal is to designate pinned topics in their own box at the top of the page with a different color bar or background then current topics following below. We tried a subforum but the topics are hidden from view until the subforum is opened. We want the pinned topics to be visible from the forum page . . . Anyone know if illuminate will do this? Marc Stridgen Posted October 5, 2021 Share Posted October 5, 2021 In the default, they show at the top of any forum when pinned, but not separated into their own box as mentioned. When you say "at the top of the page" could you explain what you mean? I ask as you mention you cannot see them until the subforum is open. That is correct as you cannot see any topic until you open the forum they are in. However thats with the exception of when viewing the site as a feed on the front end. Also, depending on your aim, you may be able to use a block. For example, I have seen on some sites, pinned topics have been put in a block on their sidebar using the topic feed. Pinned topics currently appear at the top of the list for the forum which they are a part of. A custom theme might be able to provide the color background or different appearance you're wanting but that is not something by default is applied in the default theme and outside our scope of support, I'm afraid.
