Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Davyc Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I've noticed that each month a new folder is created on the server - is it safe to delete these older folders (arrowed) or are they needed? I ask this as there will be a lot of folders created over the coming months - unless they are self-deleting. Advice please 🙂
Sonya* Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 (edited) These are folders where attachments are saved. You should never delete, move or rename them. If you do all you attachments become broken. Also uploads in Pages are saved there. Edited August 5, 2020 by Sonya* Davyc 1

opentype Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 That’s intentional and the lesser evil. Otherwise one folder will get all the images, which often leads to the situation that it can’t even be opened anymore—via FTP for example. DawPi and Davyc 1 1

Thanks for explaining - I knew that these were folders for uploads, just wasn't sure why one was created for each month but now that I can see the number of files, if lots of uploads were being done, could overwhelm the ability for the folder to open; I can see the logic in it now 🙂 Â
