SJ77 Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 Look how many tasks are stacking up trying to send emails to everyone subscribed to the topic. This is why I get comments that folks don't get registration emails. Server tasks are staked a mile long. Is there some way to do this better? Slow it down? or coalesce it or something? Maybe only shoot notifications 1 time per day per topic? Thank you in advance
SJ77 Posted June 1, 2020 Author Posted June 1, 2020 This thread has like 14K subscribers Everytime anyone says anything 14K emails fire off. That's insane. How can I stop this? "cool". ... *fires off 14K emails* SC36DC 1

That's how it works but it sends in batches. But there's a setting to remove followers if a content hasn't new replies after X days or weeks: Certainly a lot of this 14K aren't active anymore. bfarber Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 I wanted to point out, notifications will not cause registration emails to be delayed. Those emails are sent off instantly/immediately and not queued to be sent, like notifications are. SJ77 1
Fast Lane! Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Seems like their server could get bombed if someone posted rapidly. Maybe a way to throttle emails to once every xx mins would be useful. SJ77 1
