I wanted to get advice on switching to a new server solution that's cost effective. Right now I am paying $620 a month for my server setup + management. Some of my peers who run IPB communities are paying much less for their server per month (even with more people online than my forum). I was wondering if I could get some recommendations as to what you guys use. Here are my current server specs. Quote Dual Intel Xeon 2640v4 64 GB RAM 2x500 GB SSD (RAID1) 2 TB SATA CentOS 7 IPMI Gigabit cPanel Management Litespeed Sucuri (DNS) My website runs great, but as the market dips, so does ad revenue. I need to be proactive and reduce my costs right now. I have 28 more days to move as I just paid my server bill. AlexJ Posted March 23, 2020 Share Posted March 23, 2020 Host discussion is not allowed on this site or else I would suggest some. Just hire good sys admin to set up and then do some work by yourself. You are definitely paying premium for that machine. But once you factor in good service when required it might not be that premium.
