Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Chris027 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 I just discovered our spammers have been writing elaborate "About This Blog" pieces that aren't removed when we flag their accounts as spammers. All other posts etc... are removed appropriately. Is this a bug, on purpose, or am I missing some option to remove this stuff?
bfarber Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll take a closer look at this for an upcoming release. sudo, Meddysong and Chris027 1 2
CoffeeCake Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 The same happens for profile fields on the user's profile. @Adriano Faria provided a plug-in that returns a forbidden error when browsing those profiles, yet as @Chris027 points out, we don't expect to see user generated content after flagging an account as a spammer.
bfarber Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Profile fields should be cleared out when flagging a member as a spammer, so long as you have the options to unapprove or delete the member's content selected. Blogs will be cleaned up in 4.5 I've already confirmed. Chris027 1

In retrospect, it may have been "banned" members then that were not necessarily flagged as spammers (having registered prior to our migration to Invision, yet discovered after the fact).
