Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Alice Bush Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Hi, I use memberpress and your forum. If the user changes the name and surname of the memberpress account page he does not see the name changed in the forum. To change it I (the admin) have to be to change the "display name" setting from my wordpress c-panel. Can the users change their display name without asking me? Thank you
Rheddy Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I'm probably wrong but I think you have to change his username on your forums as well. I don't know if I'm right about this but does memberpress use its own database and just uses integration with IPS as an aside? What I mean is that if memberpress is installed on your site and uses its own database and you have IPS with its own database, the changes in one don't push changes in the other. But, I do admit that I've never heard of memberpress before so I don't know exactly how it works.
bfarber Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Do you have any sort of integration between your community and Memberpress? If not, then your solution will be to integrate the two so that account changes sync.

Alice Bush Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 I've got it, but If I click change display name I'm redirected to admin dashboard, in member profile. If you are a subscriber you can't see admin dashboard
Mark H Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Are you testing the change function using a non-admin account logged into the front end, or are you testing the change using your logged in admin account? (If using your admin account, login with a normal member account and test.)
