Kjell Iver Johansen Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I have now moved one of my sites to the IPS cloud, and my members start to complain about slow speed. They where used to lightning fast speed on the website, but now it is much slower. I notice it myselve also. Does IPS have any plan to move cloud-servers to EU area? I'm in Norway?
Cyboman Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 My experience is that IPS Cloud connections to europe are slow, at least in my opinion, they should be faster. I've also been asking for europe cloud servers times ago, also concerning data privacy rules, but it hasn't had any priority. A CDN might speed it up, but it doesn't solve the data privacy restriction.
David.. Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Ouch! This is a downside. We definitely need a CDN for CiC.
Kjell Iver Johansen Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 OK - I hope that someone like @Rhett or anyone from staff could give a feedback on this. I thought my members was just used to the lightning fast speed we had before, but now I need like 30 seconds or more to open a page. That is no good. That was a topic with more than 1300 pages, but anyway.
Rikki Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 That shouldn't be the case - while we only offer US-based regions, it should not be slow even from Europe. We host many European sites without issue. I'd definitely recommend submitting a ticket so we can take a look and see what's going on 🙂
