kmk Posted August 9, 2019 Author Posted August 9, 2019 Since the pdf is something standardized file as image, why IPS don't want to add this support inside the core? Don't you believe this bring more value to our forums use scenes?
opentype Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Personally, I rather download a PDF and look at it full screen in a native PDF reader than trying to scroll through the tiny pages embedded in another page (the website). The latter means really bad usability.
kmk Posted August 9, 2019 Author Posted August 9, 2019 It can't work as image, after embed it show thumbnail in the post, click it show it with pop-up?
bfarber Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 You can't generate a thumbnail of a PDF with a run of the mill hosting environment using GD without third party libraries. PDFs aren't images.
Joy Rex Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 PDF embeds are also problematic in some browsers, notably IE 11. If you really wanted to add such a feature, I would look into PDFObject or PDF.js.
