Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
ComputerWorks Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Hello, after executing the conversion from our old MyBB forum to Invision, I realized that all the formatting tags in peoples posts and comments don't work properly. Instead of displaying the text in the respective format, it just displays the tags as raw text. For new posts however, the tags work perfectly fine. Is there any way to fix this?

Jim M Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 If you're done with the conversion, please be sure to finalize it and allow the background tasks to run.
bfarber Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 When you are done with a conversion you need to click the link to "finish" it, which will launch several background tasks. You can monitor the progress of those tasks from the AdminCP dashboard. Those tasks are responsible for reformatting posts (among other things), so it is imperative the conversion be "finished" and those tasks allowed to run in order for everything to be properly adjusted.

Thank you very much, that helped a lot! I am pretty sure I clicked on the "finish" link after the conversion. For some reason however it appears that most of the tasks have not been executed anyway and I had to start them manually via the option on the dashboard page.

You may wish to check in ACP -> System -> Advanced Configuration and if you're running your tasks via Activity, this may be very slow depending on activity of your community. We recommend, especially for first running these background tasks after a conversion, to setup CRON in the aforementioned location or run them manually.
