You probably already know that Google map API is going to ask some money for intense uses. I checked my APIs stats after this news and discovered something troubling: the calendar update for importation of icalendar flow is making more than 5000 calls to the geocoding api. Each 4 hours, this makes 150,000 calls / months, which of course completely explodes the future Google map free quotas.
Do some other people here know this problem? The number of event to import is even far from the 5000, and even with deactivation of places this goes on the same rhythm and will prevent me to use google map after the 11 June... Why would this IPS need to do such amount of geocoding? If you have ideas....
Thank you for raising this - I will take a look as it sounds like there might be some improvements we can make in this area.
