Create Poll without a thread?

Let's say I want to create a simple poll, like, which do you prefer Pepsi or Coke.

I have the create a thread likely with the poll question as the title, I have no idea what to type as the post subject without being redundant (again), then I create the poll and ask the same question again. 

So it's likely I asked which you prefer 3 times.

Is it possible to create just a poll?

It's not possible - a poll is tied to a topic.

You could try playing with "Enable poll-only content?" to see if it improves things a little (it doesn't)

@BomAle is working on a poll application, however I don't know the full feature list.

It's possible you could use a widget, yet I think it would still be a forum topic which creates the poll.
