Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Ndugu Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Any search on our boards gives this error: Something went wrong. Please try again. Error code: EX256 Invision Support won't help because we're not on the latest release (not ready to move our server to PHP 5.6). Any ideas how to fix this?
Adriano Faria Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 This is an error on a query. I suggest you to disable all 3rd party apps and plugins, one by one, and go testing, until you find the culprit. You can also check the logs, as mentioned above.
Ndugu Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Here's an entry from the system log: Fri, 12 Aug 2016 20:11:03 +0000 (Severity: 2)http://site.com/index.php?/search/&csrfKey= ErrorException 256: Class IPS\core\modules\front\search\search could not be loaded. Ensure it has been properly prefixed with an underscore and is in the correct namespace. #0 [internal function]: IPS\IPS::errorHandler(256, 'Class IPS\core\...', '/home/forum/pub...', 291, Array) #1 /home/forum/public_html/init.php(291): trigger_error('Class IPS\core\...', 256) #2 [internal function]: IPS\IPS::autoloader('IPS\core\module...') #3 [internal function]: spl_autoload_call('IPS\core\module...') #4 /home/forum/public_html/system/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.php(118): class_exists('IPS\core\module...') #5 /home/forum/public_html/index.php(13): IPS\_Dispatcher->run() #6 {main}
Adriano Faria Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 The error in log was expected to be exactly this one, since the search is core. You better do what I said above.
Ndugu Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Just checked - we don't have any 3rd party applications or plugins.
Adlago Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I'd tried a few things - Support - Mark 'Something isn't working correctly' > This will remove the cache. - Seacrh - Rebuild Search Index Try and : In Search -> Content to include in results: unmark 'All' and enter 1 day /for test/
Ndugu Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 OK, did all of that, and still getting the same error. When a search is performed, the error shows up right away - there's no processing going on.
Adlago Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Which version do you use? When a problem occurs? Can you publish a link to your forum?
Ndugu Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Not sure what version we're on (don't know where to find this) but it's just below 4.1 This happens with every search. The forum is here: http://forum.songfacts.com/ Appreciate your help.
Adlago Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Your server is Nginx but your PHP It is very low 5.3.3 So your Search module returns an internal server error.
Stuart Silvester Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I would recommend re-uploading all of the files again for your IPS4 installation. Make sure you overwrite any existing files
Ndugu Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Where can we get the latest stable release of IPS that works on PHP 5.3.3? If we have that, we can try re-uploading the files.
