kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I cannot see anywhere that says make this a recurring payment in the store. Usually with paypal its a subscription button and its all automated without the person having to do anything more. However ( I might be wrong) it seems that they will need to login to the store each month to see renewals that are due and to click to pay. Any ideas please?
kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 sorry there is already another thread ongoing so it seems there isnt any way to have recurring payments not such good news for me at all... so maybe as ive mentioned somewhere else I might be best just adding a paypla button for recurring payments and then moving members into groups manually. has anyone else added a paypal button instead of using commerce? In intersting to know if you have.
chilihead Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Paypal uses Billing Agreements now. Check the Guides.

kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 oh so i should click to say billing agreements are always used
kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 and then I just do this to make it renewable each month? should i be clicking add to purchase price?
kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 dont click to add to purchase price else it makes it £6 to pay first month ha ha so now it seems im sorted hopefully it works lol
kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 UHHO as ive added into the other thread also... even though Im using paypal which will collect all the necessary information the shopping cart asks for billing information so that means we have to be registered with data protection act really is there no way round this as some people might not want to give thier adress ... Im not sure why we need to collect that as we are not sending a bill to their house are we?
kar3n2 Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 Just now, Jim M said: Bill address is required and cannot be removed. so we have to register with data protection act because we are collecting information like this. The whole reason for using paypal is becasue they collect info and not us

I think though a lot of people might not like to give out their personal home adress.
Jason Brown_41238 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 The explanation and instructions on how commerce works is kind of disappointing. I have a recurring subscription program going and right now as their 30 day term is ending and getting ready to renew, people are getting an "invoice" to pay again versus their cards being autocharged. Not cool. but I guess it's the life of a small business owner. I set up two payment options one with credit card and one with Paypal. If the makers of this software are saying that the only way to take a recurring automatic billing subscription is through Papal I wish they would just explicitly spell that out.
