Really big table

I moved my files into the database, but then decided against it.  The core_files table is still 5.5GB.  Why?  I don't have any files stored in the database any longer.

Assuming the file move has fully completed, have you checked the database table with phpMyAdmin to see if 1) it has a lot of rows still in it and/or 2) whether the table has an appreciable amount of "Overhead"?

Yes. it's almost all overhead.  How do I fix that?

Optimize the table.

Holy crap, I optimized all of the tables with overhead.  My host better be happy with me.  I went from 6GB to 460MB.
