Based on gender : can we have two member groups

You could add a Gender profile field.

And you could copy a group and give separate genders different icons and stuff.

What exactly are you trying to do?

We have default member groups members , moderators , administartor

 

In our Indian language hindi 

Male members are called sharavk

and female as sharvika 

so when a members joins he can join either as sharvak  if male and sharavika   if she is female

Sure. If you set the gender select up as a rules custom data field, then it will have its own changed/updated event attached to it that you could use to switch their member group as soon as its updated.
