GaryJames Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I have a member that has reported thet a normal word has been replaced by ****. Is there a way to see what word has been filtered or has been replaced by the ****. In other words what they typed in for it to be filtered out Many thanks.

Anyway - the answer to the original question is you can't see what it was before filtering. It is done at post time, not at display time. My suggestion would be to replace the resulting text to include the first letter of the profanity.
Greg W Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 @Nathan Explosion so if you see a filtered word that says f*** what is the point of filtering it? Most of ours are replaced something like (profanity filtered) as really, it doesn't matter to us what they have put as long as it doesn't go into the public posts. Especially when you bear in mind that our site is a site for a kids game
Square Wheels Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I had a lot of filters from a file I found somewhere and imported. It blocked a persons name. Many of the people on that site use their real full name, they had an Asian name and it got blocked.
Greg W Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Ours is basically something we have built up over the 10 years of the site running. 10 years ago, there wasnt anything you could download & import, so all done manually. There are some funny ones in there which we have done intentionally, such as replacing some words with "I broke a rule, please report me" & others where removing the word totally will not change the discussion, so replaced with a blank space
