ghostmilk Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I looked everywhere (I think?) but can't find the release notes for the different Betas, I'd be grateful for any pointers.
TheSonic Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 We are not announcing them now as we are just looking for our power users like you guys to help us finish up these last few beta releases
TSP Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hello, there is no release notes for the different betas. You can look in the bug tracker to see which issues have been fixed, but there is no information on which release they're fixed for. But it's safe to say that any bug marked as fixed before today is in beta 8. Here is the bug tracker: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/ (IPS 4 Resources > IPS4 Bug Tracker in the menu)You can filter on which issues have been fixed in the right sidebar. Here is a direct link to bug reports that have been marked fixed: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/?advanced_search_submitted=1&content_field_106[1]=1&sortby=record_last_comment&sortdirection=desc There have also been some larger rewrites of the code base at times, but there haven't been a lot to affect the feature set.
kysil Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 TSP link with filtering not working for another users
Anthony Luth Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Beta's are not supported works and therefore it isn't recommended use software, therefore release notes are not necessary.
Pete T Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Beta's are not supported works and therefore it isn't recommended use software, therefore release notes are not necessary. beta means testing so how can test if say not recommend use software !
ghostmilk Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Beta's are not supported works and therefore it isn't recommended use software, therefore release notes are not necessary. That's a bit of a stretch. It is a lot easier to test software when you know what changed so you have an idea of where to look to make sure fixed and especially newly added features are working as expected with your configuration.
MMXII Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Beta's are not supported works and therefore it isn't recommended use software, therefore release notes are not necessary. I think it is more like during Beta things change more often and it would be a huge undertaking to write changelogs for every single thing. It would cost a lot of time that is better spent elsewhere.
Anthony Luth Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 What I mean is that during Beta your support is limited to other individuals having to provide any answers if they can find a solution, whereas the developers cannot focus attention on the client's issues specific to that beta. They are focusing on the software and as one person also pointed out change is too often occurring during beta stage to provide a proper documentation. One moment something will look one way and the next completely different.
gbstn10 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I was just about to ask about this; specifically for the skin templates. I understand changes are required, but it'd be a huge help if we knew what had been altered with the skin templates so we could make small adjustments to what we've already done (skinning wise) rather than have to start skinning a whole new theme from scratch each time big changes are made.
Crystal V Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 If you're looking to see changes in skin templates why not just do a file compare between releases of the Developer Tools' HTML folders for each app.

kysil Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 But it's a good idea to create a page for a list of bugs fixed Delta / Beta or Minor version upgrades.
