Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted April 19, 201411 yr Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I have a question regarding the reputation system on IPS... So a few members on my site are starting to constantly rep and unrep a single post about 100 times to give someone alot of notifications, now this isn't really something I want to suspend/ban someone over, so I was wondering if I could disable the rep system for just individual specifc members?
April 19, 201411 yr You have a few options that would result in them getting bored and move on to something else. 1. Limit the amount of reps people can give 2. Turn it off for a while 3. Get effected members to turn of notifications for likes. As you say it is not really something you need to go to war over, just make it not worth their while.
April 19, 201411 yr You can move them to a group that isn't allowed to give positive or negative rep. That will essentially disable it for those members.
April 19, 201411 yr Could also do a skin edit so that only that user can't see the button lol That's cutting off your nose to spite your face.... They only want to disable it for a few members... Not remove it entirely from the skin, or have to write custom code to check for each of the members they don't want to give rep.
