Could not find that skin??

the javascript template under skin_shoutbox

Embedding is great. Shoutbox should however have a smaller embedded video size than the forum. Now it is he same size.

 

I apologize if this is not the place to ask this question, but is there a way for me to turn off video embedding inside the shout box and have the video simply post as a link?

That's not possible with IP.Board's media tag system, you can't define one set of embed rules for when it is used in one application and another set in a different application.

having the no emoticon (except in edit screen) issues also on all skins, removing and reinstall did not make difference.
rebuilding skins, cache, etc no help either.
very odd especially since they show when editing.
really, when the RTE is shown (loaded) emoticons work, when its not they do not on my end.

can not edit shout! have ipb 3.2.3 and last shoutbox.

before upgrade works fine!

Sure

You did not do step 4, you had customized your skin_shoutbox -> shout_row skin template at some point so it did not get the latest code for that template in this update. I reverted that template like my instructions stated and now you can edit shouts.

Work great but with sphinx still not work :sad:

I'm not sure what sphinx would have to do with this app, it has no IP.Board search integration.

I'm having a problem with Shoutbox where it always remain at the top and every hook I install it remain at the bottom of Shoutbox. Can't get any Hook to go top of Shoubox. I have try going into my Admin CP and drag the hook to the very top and it still remain at the top.

What do you have for the 'Hook to enable?' setting under Other Apps -> Shoutbox -> Settings -> Hook: Global Shoutbox page?

I have it set as.

Hook to enable: Top of each page
Display on: Board index page

Sorry, forgot to ask, what other hooks then are you not able to reposition over it?

The reason is, those hooks hook into the boardIndexTemplate, and the way you have the Shoutbox now is actually hooking into the globalTemplate, which wraps around all other content on the page. So you have the Shoutbox set to only show on the Board Index, but it actually resides above the content specific to the Board Index, which includes those hooks you're using.

So there is no way to have those hook display on top of Shoutbox?

You could change the Shoutbox hook to display above the forum categories, that would make it hook into the Board Index like your other hooks and then should be able to be shown below them.

isn't what I mentioned doing that? thought thats how it worked but not having luck now. TBH I never paid that much attention to that setting though so I may be thinking of it incorrectly.

I just tried it on my test board, having the Shoutbox hook set to display above the forum categories makes other hooks in the boardIndexTemplate show up above it.

I need to make sure the hooks I am seeing are not causing it then, I had only used it like that once or twice so was not even positive thats how it should work.
board panel was one I was wondering about.
