shamil
Hi there, I may be running IPB on Windows soon, and was wondering if I should opt for MySQL or MSSQL 2008 R2. Whilst both have there advantages, which gives the best performance? Are there any issues reported when using Wincache?
Fishfish0001
MSSQL costs extra money to run IPB on. Go for MySQL. Most applications are built around this (That I've seen).

We have a SQL Enterprise license :D I myself develop apps for use with MySQL, but not MSSQL.
Fishfish0001
I would go for which ever you know how to code, and use the best.
Cloaked
No problems with wincache and IPB. Go with mysql. I prefer sql server, but, for php apps you're better off with mysql.
Tom_F
Wincache is fine and certainly 1.1 gives some really good performance gains on my WS2008/MSSQL/IIS setup.
