Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
sunrisecc Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I didn't get any notification about your previous response. My alternate account did. I will report back shortly about any updates since the latest update.
sunrisecc Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Two new topics in feedback and no notifications.
sunrisecc1 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Posting using the alternate account. Ibet that sunrisecc will NOT get notifed.
sunrisecc Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Never received the notification. As a further test, I logged on as the alternate and sent sunrisecc a test email. That email arrived. Next, while still logged on as the alternate, I used Share this link via email pointing to this topic and that email arrived.
sunrisecc Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 To further verify that it is not the new board address causing the problem, I PM's this account from the alternate account. I did receive the notification.
broni Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I came here manually again. No notifications to old account, or new account. Nothing in junk, or any other folder.

Management Matt Posted March 29, 2010 Management Posted March 29, 2010 Posted here: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/307775-need-help-debugging/ for debugging help. As much detail as you can. :)
broni Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Really?Today's active content displays only one page of results and that's it. Whatever fits one page. Even, if you set it to 1 week, it displays one page only.
Management Matt Posted March 29, 2010 Management Posted March 29, 2010 Fixed the pagination issue. :)
broni Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Thanks Matt :) Nice job :) If I could only get my email notification back... I'm not even replying to any new topics, because without email notification I don't want to look like I'm ignoring someone's reply.
Management Matt Posted March 30, 2010 Management Posted March 30, 2010 I'm looking into the email issue, but I suspect it is an issue when sending the email as it only seems to affect you and Sunrise and it affects any accounts you create. I've had a bunch of emails through fine.
Management Matt Posted March 30, 2010 Management Posted March 30, 2010 Ok, added some specific debugging for Broni and Sunrise.
Abomination Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 VNC: Fixed! :shifty: It has not been working correctly for me for the last few days. The "Recently Added Topics" side bar isn't very accurate either when compared to manually visiting each forum. Not trying to complain, just trying to give feedback.
Abomination Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I see you have updated. Nice. It shows this after I click on new content: "There are 74 new entries since Yesterday, 11:38 PM" Prior to 3.1 it would show all content forever. What was the reasoning? Could I change that back on my own forum?
3DKiwi Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 What was the reasoning? That was a bug and it wasn't showing the most recent posts. How it works now is correct behaviour. 3DKiwi
Abomination Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 That was a bug and it wasn't showing the most recent posts. How it works now is correct behaviour. 3DKiwi Are you saying new content was only supposed to show new content from the last visit? But a couple of months ago it was showing everything? Can I change that on my forum to show all?
3DKiwi Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Are you saying new content was only supposed to show new content from the last visit? But a couple of months ago it was showing everything? Can I change that on my forum to show all? That's how I have things configured. In your settings you have two options under Search. One is to show new content from my last visit. When I'm about to leave here or my own site I mark the board as read. When I return I press "View new content". That only gives me new posts since my last visit. To me that seems the most logical behaviour of the View New Content button / link. If you want a result showing everything for the last week or more then you will need to change the behaviour of the View New Content button. What I've got at my site in addition to the "View New Content" button is a "Today's Active Content" button. So even after I mark my board read I can still a list of recent posts from the last 24 hours. In IPB 2 you could results from up to a week ago. I'm not sure how to retrieve new content for 7 days in version 3. 3DKiwi
Abomination Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks. In my settings on this site I switched it and they now go back to March 30th(?). I believe there may have been 2 settings in my profile when 3.1 beta was first put up.
3DKiwi Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I believe there may have been 2 settings in my profile when 3.1 beta was first put up. They have removed the "display results as forum" or "display results as list" option. 3DKiwi
Abomination Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 They have removed the "display results as forum" or "display results as list" option. 3DKiwi Thanks for verifying that. :) It appears that I can choose to display unread topics going back a long time ago, or all topics read and unread since last visit. But no display all topics read or unread going back a long time ago? Might there be a setting in the admin cp to add that option?
3DKiwi Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Might there be a setting in the admin cp to add that option? No. You would be better to do a search. 3DKiwi
bfarber Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 The two options are intended to 1) Show me all topics I have not read (there is a hard timeframe cut off in the ACP as well, so this could be limited to all topics in the last 90 days, for instance) 2) Show me all topics since my last visit (both read and unread will show in the results, however as soon as you leave/come back the list will be refreshed)
Management Matt Posted April 19, 2010 Management Posted April 19, 2010 If you would like to view all content posted within a specific timeframe, then 'Active Content' is the best bet.
