Andy Rixon Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I like this idea, I would be willing to purchase this :D
Aggiefans.com Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 It is an interesting idea.... if it integrated advertising functions (to manage ad placement and stats) it could be a big deal.
Garthilk Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 Just had another idea to add to this thread. SiteStream This module would provide a real time update as to what is going on in your site. Example would be a whole page module, showing you a series of events as they unfold on your site.Bob replied to Going to Game thread.Frankie started a new thread entitled Why healthcare sucks.Michael updated his status to, going to the store.Billy Joe just moderated the thread Moderation sucks.Grandapa just started a conversation with Bob and Frankie. New entries would go on top and would update fairly rapidly as you could see what's happening on your site at all times. See how events unfold and discover trends. Filterable so you could see timestamps, etc, filter out certain kinds of results etc.
Andy Millne Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I like your thinking Garthilk. I was just thinking today that a tool like this could be handy especially if it's used to target advertising efficiently.
Yukiko Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 with a internal statistical information it be easier to target your users better for internal purposes as well but this ends up with a increased privacy policy for your site in long run
ZakRhyno Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 While it's an interesting idea, demand would be key. My guess is that something like this would be sold as an addon, so there'd need to be enough demand to warrant the investment time. I would buy it, how do we go about asking others? Just post to this form are post someplace else?
pisaldi Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 More for IP.Metrics... it has a beatiful name  How many users use each skin installed and graphs Time users stay with each skin and graphs How many times a user connect per day and time spend in average per day Skin rank per groups in percentage with graphics And more to come...
Collin1000 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 More for IP.Metrics... it has a beatiful name  How many users use each skin installed and graphsTime users stay with each skin and graphsHow many times a user connect per day and time spend in average per daySkin rank per groups in percentage with graphics And more to come... +1 for average online time per day. Thats about the only useful stat ive seen so far... I really dont care how long my users stay with a skin, as im 90% sure they pick one and never change it.
Garthilk Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Someone mentioned earlier about how this would affect hardware and forum performance. IP.Metrics could be it's own product installed seperately, even on a different server but linked to specific forums via a combination of small changes to the IP.Forums where it provides data, similar to how IP.Converge gets data from IP.Forums. In addition, RSS feeds could be parsed to get a lot of this data. This would ensure that server performance of the forums would not be impacted.
pisaldi Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 You mean like an IPS Service? :) Yes, or something similar... A little more...Time spent writing messages Time spent reading messages Accessed forums ranked per time and messages Time spent in applications like IP.Downloads, IP.Gallery and othersAverage of users connected at all moments of the day Average of daily messages and new topics created More to come... IP.Metrics forever...
Enkidu Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 +1 from me  you can't get enough of stat!
georgebkk Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Sorry for bumping this old thread, but it's a fantastic idea. I am interested in paying for this.
