Ravage Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 yeah i thought this would have topics too...oh well maybe in the near future
T3XT3 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Suggestion for a resource friendly modification of this hook. :whistle:
Mat Barrie Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I just noticed actually on Vodafone NZ's forum that the hook title is "Lastest Discussions" - seems misspelled ;) (Also, "<if test="is_array( Array ) && count( Array )">" appears in the source.
Nikosf Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Excellent Hook and very useful! Could you create a similar hook for blogs? A hook that will show the latest discussions on main blog board. This hook will build a list that contains the latest 20-25 comments in blogs Not a list for each blog, a list with the public blogs that have a new comment, in a chronological order. The list should contain the username of the user that wrote the comment, the title of the blog where the comment was written and date & time that the comment was written. For example: "Username1" wrote a comment in "blog's name1" at 2.30am, 24-10-2009 "Username2" wrote a comment in "blog's name2" at 2.45am, 24-10-2009 "Username1" wrote a comment in "blog's name3" at 2.47am, 24-10-2009 "Username3" wrote a comment in "blog's name1" at 2.48am, 24-10-2009
Nikosf Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Categories->forums->topics->Discussions(or replies)
PSXHosting Ltd. Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Is anyone having problems with this mod? It's not updating the list of new topics/replies for me.
Gaffney Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Often when on the index I don't refresh, what about adding a ajax option to this so people don't have to constantly refresh ?
Swissgeocache Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Hi Adriano Very nice hook! I like it. Unfortunally I also had this update problem a few times. See screenshot (german sorry): In the bottom list is a new "böxli vergraben?" topic. On the latest discussions list on top this entry is missing. A few minutes later it was listed correctly.
Adriano Faria Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 This hook uses a very heavy query if you use RESTRICT setting. It will be redone in 3.1, with tunning this query.
Swissgeocache Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 What exactly do you mean with "restrict" setting? My settings are: Number of topics: 6 Show distinct topics?: Yes Show number of views?: No Show number of replies?: No Show forum name?: No And only a small group of people can see the block. Btw: Could it be that the hook only shows discussions when there is at least one answer in the topic? I guess this could be the reason for not showing new topics.
Adriano Faria Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Means if a topic received 3 posts, using RESTRICT will show only once in sidebar. Not using restrict, will show those 3 posts.

How do you fix the misspelling of Lastest to Latest?
WebbyB Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 This isn't working in 3.1.0 - the .xml isn't being recognised...
Claudia999 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Hi there, is it possible to have 2 or 3 blocks "latest discussions" with different forums as source - or similar blocks to board index? Greetings Claudia
Chito Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 From what I understand, this hook is suppose to only show the most recent replies from those topics that you chose in the settings. I don't think it's suppose to show the most recent topics that were started. However, I agree that it should show it, since it also falls in the replies category. If I was to start a topic, but it was not included in the hook, I would have to go back again and post right after that. Only then would it show on this hook and out onto the forums. So having it include the first post from a topic being started, would be a good idea. Anybody know if there's been a most recent update for this hook? I upgraded to IP.Board v3.1.1 and using (SOS30) Latest Discussions v1.0.2 Thanks in advance.
Leooooo Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 There might be a compatibility probleme with that hook using version 3.1.2 of board. Turning performance mode on will displays error on board. Can any guy using 3.1.2 and Adriano Lastest discussion mod confirm this ?
Lesovsky Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Please update your hook, make it compatible with 3.1.3! Thank you!
Charly47 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 [quote name='BlackHollow' timestamp='1288820307' post='2037543'] Please update your hook, make it compatible with 3.1.3! Thank you! +1
Jimbotron Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I would also like to see an update where new topics are included in the Latest Discussion box.
