RobertMidd
Please see http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/288523-hook/ Can it be made possible for the hook to access data that is being processed where the hook is placed ?
Michael
Bump to bring this back up for discussion, this is currently the big stumbling block preventing some really awesome uses of the Hooks system. :)

Josh
We've discussed different ideas for giving hooks access to more data, such as the current element of a foreach loop, we'll let everyone know when we decide how this will work.
bfarber
We're going to take a look at the hooks a bit for the next release (3.0.3) to see if we can fix a few minor but useful things.

Yuksel
We all need this... Can we expect this for the next minor release (3.0.3)?
bfarber
I'm afraid this won't be in 3.0.3.
RobertMidd
3.0.4 then ?
RobertMidd
Did it make it into 3.0.4? If not then which release? as it was supposed to be 3.0.
bfarber
We did look into this and discussed it, however it turns out that the technicalities in implementing the changes needed are a bit challenging, and we decided not to try to make these changes in a minor point release. If we implement changes to give hooks access to the foreach data, it's unlikely to happen before 3.1 I'm afraid.

RobertMidd
Is 3.0.5 the last point release If so then will this make it into 3.1.0 ?
bfarber
We can rarely tell you what will and wont' be in a future release. The release plans are very fluid, and change as situations/issues/etc. come up. I can say it's on the list of potential features for 3.1.0. If it will make it into the release or not is not something I can definitively answer yet. 3.0.5 may or may not be the last point release of 3.0. There's too many unknowns to answer that yet.
