It always does for me, the treats the carriage return after

as a <br />, you'd have to add some conditional coding for that

Maybe it doesn't matter, just lots of people when typing quotes type it like this:

I think it happens when extra space is applied to quote / code tags. i'll see:

Hmm now it removed the tags and wraped my quotes tags as close as possible (which makes for messy threads sometimes)
