It's actually an option in your IPB 2.1 also. You can still choose to log in via email address OR username, fear not.

It wouldn't let me log in with my username. I don't read instructions so I was trying every username and password combination I've ever used and still couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. :P

I could not post for about 10 minutes even after figuring that out, I would be logged out even if I had tried.

Same here, this was quite confusing until I saw the words "E-mail Address" (which we all failed to look at until we were experiencing technical difficulties :P ). The problem is 99.9% of the time between the keyboard and the chair. ;)

I know what would have gotten my attention, giant text that appears only once saying LOGIN WITH EMAIL! :P

I don't exactly know why they changed it to login with email address. They probably won't be using Converge here so why change it? May be they are going to use converge, only just for the staff... Link it up with Nexus and their CMS and they are in business... I dunno though.

I'd imagine these forums will use Converge eventually, to tie in with their own nexus installation. ( Customers using the same login for here, the customer center and IPSB would be sweet. )

considering my account here and at ipbs were created in my client center that wouldnt be a problem, just would of been nice to know we have to login with our email addy instead of username

It'd be nice if they add an option to login with email or username on the login page. Handy when a member forgets their username. IPB should include a password hint to help with recovering usernames.

I actually prefer logging in with e-mail, though I'm not likely to change the login method on my own board.

Well I locked myself out of my account, it appears to have reverted to username now. :D

Now that it's back to username, I couldn't figure out why it was rejecting me when I had the info autofilled when it worked yesterday. :P

and now they change it back to username, ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
