Knockout.chat has the ability to set per-thread backgrounds for members in the gold member group. This is limited to the creator of the thread. Could we get something similar added to v5?

I upgraded my forum from v4 to v5 and when logged out of my site receive the following error. I couldn't find anything in the AdminCP like it mentioned by might be looking in the wrong spot. Thanks!! [[Template core/front/global/sidebar is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]

When the setting "Users can see topics posted by other users?" is disabled (to create a private mod/admin only forum for the end user) the following error is displayed for the end-user AFTER posting a thread in the subforum. "[[Template forums/front/index/forumRow is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]" The subforum also vanishes for the end user. This affects both beta 5 and beta 6.

Hi I have a problem with developer mode. After updating to IPS 5 and installing DEVTOOLS, I do not have any Developer Mode. And when I uncomment the lines in constants.php (define( 'IN_DEV', TRUE );) the page loads with only text and no option to do anything.

Beta 5 is out, and you can blame Mick for the title of this post. 😅 If you're under 40, you'll have no idea what that gif is all about, don't worry. It's just an ancient movie from the before times. Anyway, Beta 5 is working its way through the cloud system and will be available in your AdminCP shortly. Not sure if this was best placed here, but report or support ticket. Feel free to move, transfer, do as you please. Anyway, I signed up for a demo yesterday, got the details shortly after. Went to take a look last night (uk time), had a bunch of errors of the bat, not even had chance to sign in and break it myself, couldn’t open admin panel nothing. Just tried again this morning, same again. Tried different devices, not my end.

So far, I'm loving most parts of Invisioncommunity v5. I'm currently redoing my community site into V5, even though it's in beta, as it is just a night-and-day improvement for me. That said, I feel some features have been left behind, and the first one I'm picking up on is the Menu Manager. With the use of nodes, it provides a nice swift link to another section of the site, that said, there is a sorely needed feature for this, the ability to "name" a node. I have to use an "external link" to be able to set a title, as sometimes, I want a shorter, or more direct name for a section of the forums (for example). let's say I have a category on the forums cal…

Love that you can set up widgets dedicated to Tags, but a shame that you can't set the design to be 'Carousel' style... at least out of the box (i.e. using Page Editor). I figured it was because such a design was simply not supported/coded in yet, but I realised that all I need to do is add "ipsData--carousel" to the "ipsData--widget-tags" UL class, and it dynamically sets it to the way I'd love to see it! So the facility is there, it's just not accessible on the front-end yet..? Is there a reason why I can't set a Tag Widget to be a carousel from the Page Editor yet? I'm guessing there are maybe some bugs that need testing before you guys fully allow admins to …

Upgraded to the latest Beta today and noticed what might be a slight error on the theme when posting. If you select Emoji and then click on icons but don't select anything, and then post a link, I then see this on the submit button....

I'm not sure if it is part of the Beta testing or if anyone has played around with it, but I am quite curious as to how Zapier is involved with IC5. I'm assuming it has not been removed, but I am at a loss on how the formatting will go now that HTML support has been dropped for the editor. I played around with the test site a bit and it does not appear to offer Header or list support on markdown nor does it seem to handle paragraphs well. Obviously, I am making huge assumptions as I do not have a Beta site running and I have no idea how Zapier will be integrated, but I was hoping for some more information.

Just noticed that no thumbnails are being generated for any of the cover images in the articles, events, commerce features/apps and forum listings For example a 40px x 40px icon image is being populated by a 1400px x 1000px image Would think that on front pages etc the payload of using such large images in such a way would quickly add up Would anyone from invison like to pass on the thinking behind using full images rather than thumbnails ? thanks

It's Friday. It's the afternoon in the UK, so that can only mean... another beta release! Beta 4 is working its way through the cloud right now and should be available via your AdminCP soon. As always, the full list of changes is available via the release notes page. Those that upgraded from v4 and found white space where images in posts should have been will find this release should fix those "missing" images. Let me know how it goes!
