Hello, I think the dropdown menu which appears when clicking on a nick should have another item: "View display name history". So - View Public Profile - Add Friend - Send Message - Find Member's Photo - View display name History It'll require minor effort but will make a lot of lives easy. Thanks

Is there a way to automatically assign numbers (id) to all forums and sub forums so that it becomes easy to select a particular forum or a sub forum from the drop down menu while creating a new sub forum or rss? Eg 1Category1 2subforum1 3subforum2 4subforum3 5Category2 6subforum1 7subforum2 8subforum3 or this format would also be cool 1Category1 1.1subforum1 1.2subforum2 1.3subforum3 2Category2 2.1subforum1 2.2subforum2 2.3subforum3 Thanks

RSS Icon?

Is there are reason the RSS icon at the bottom of the screen is supposed to be so darn big? It really is an eyesore IMO. The icon is nice, it just could use a little down-scaling so it doesn't take up so much room. As is, it doesn't fit.

I'm sorry. I'm unsure wether this should be a suggestion or a bug. I just thought of something. It would kind of be a nice idea to have the choice to select who you get PMs from sort of like the email feature. The reason I thought of this is because I work for a band and some of the band members have accounts on my forum. The fans PM them like crazy sometimes. So I thought maybe this would be a good idea. Just a thought..

What I mean by this instead of having all the profile stuff in one long block. Split it up to be in blogs of their own. say like The photo and rating stuff in one block. Personal Info and contacts in one block. (if they don't want to give out their IM info they can check a box in the control panel to disable the M details all together so it doesn't show no information. Statistics in one block with the PM and Email links in it. Now Here is the catch What if they wanted to move the blocks around or add a custom content block like in the blog. I am just warning any upgraders to do some checks after you upgrade where you don't end up in the mess I have been in. I FINALLY fixed all of my problems after hours and hours and hours of VERY tedious things in the ACP, phpmyadmin, comparing between both of my sites' ACPs, etc. 1. The html logic tool- It missed many many many changes in my templates. And it also messed up templates by stripping $s inside if statements in some templates. This happened on both of my sites. Are these 3 supposed to be aligned to the left? They've been centered in the past and I preferred them that way. Same on the board index, topics and replies don't look right aligned to the left.

lets say u can change a group's options so that members of that group cant be anonymous. but what if i want to make it like this so tht a group can be anonymous but a particular member of that group cant be anonymous. i mean i want to change only tht particular user's option or permission. it would be really good idea to add this option in ipb. becaz sumtimes it is really needed so that we will change a particular user's option. u might want to change a particular user's forum access permissions or many things like tht. regards

converter issue.

This may be known but I am posting it just in case it it not. Today I installed IPB 2.2 rc 3 on my ocpower.info site to be used as its forum to replace the smf one that is there now. I downloaded both the forum software just in case any changed had been made and downloaded the converter today. I then uploaded them both and installed ipb 2.2 rc 3. After installing it I ran the converter, every thing except the members went fine. On the members converter it was saying there was not legacy password table in the database so I looked and then made one and was able to convet the smf member over to the ipb database. I am not sure if it was on purpose or a mistake to leave out…

Just wondering if this can be added to features. While selecting a forum or a sub forum, from a long list in drop down in admin cp, it gets very confusing, especially when sub forums have a similar name but different categories. So if categories can be made to look bold in drop down it could be good.

I am wondering if IPS anticipates 2.2.1 being soon after 2.2.0. Because last year 2.1.1 came out very soon after 2.1.0. Only reason I care is because I would hate to put in many modifications if 2.2.0 is just going to be put out just for the fact of having it be a FINAL version, but knowing 2.2.1 would be a very quick maintenance release.

so, those of us who use gmail (and everybody should, its a great setup they got), if you're writing for over so many minutes, your text is autosaved to a "drafts" folder. after so many complaints about peole writing lenghty posts at my forum & losing them to crashes, power outage, internet troubles, accidentally hit whatever key, etc, i cant help but think this'd be a really useful feature for a message board. Personal Photo thumbnail not being made

I don't see this problem on here, nor on my test board, so I'm not submitting it as a bug report, but on my live forums, when I update my personal photo, it doesn't seem to make the thumbnail version of it, it just uploads the original full scale photo. In the meangime I edted profile.php to display a rescaled avatar if there's no personal photo to display, and the gray user head if neither is there. Am I missing some setting to get the thumbnail created?

hardcodes in editor screen

i find it hard to understand why ips went against all programming good practices and rules and hardcoded some values in the js files for the editor. i am referring to the option panel. if one installs an emoticon that is wider/taller than regular ones (which is a feature), boom, the emoticon box gets scrollbars (it does not resize) and everything gets ugly. we should be able to set the number of emoticons per rox (like 2.1.7) and the width of the emoticon box and editor box- at least in the skin acp. in the end i found those values and modified them for my forum's skin, but it was a white night(mare). please make them easily editable, as many boards use larger emoticons …
