Bare with me here, because the reason for this suggested change likely does not happen on your own forum...this forum...because your users are highly biased--we're all more or less "experts" with how forums work, and especially Invision forums. The Problem--too many users use "Quote & Reply", and then put their reply within the quote. Hi IPS, Can you bring and option to next release allowing us to disable send of email/notification upon upload of new file version in Downloads app? The option is useful to avoid useless spam of member's mail box and to avoid misleading notification of "new version". Happens we need to reupload specific version of file, e.g. to correct some file mistake we did, change that does not require everyone to re-download a file. There is no need to bother members every time in such situation. A simple on/off toggle upon upload of new version would be very useful. Can you please bring it to nest maintenance release? Thank you.

Hi, over the years, I have seen a lot of feature requests and suggestions in this thread, and none gets implemented when politely requested. So now I will not ask. I am demanding this change for IPS v5. Make it happen 🙂. In IPSv4, when an image is uploaded in the forum and across the suite, except for the Gallery app, the EXIF data, including camera and lens specs, is not stored in the database. This makes it impossible for third-party devs to create add-ons which can display the image's EXIF data in the Forums app, Pages app and other places. I have a pet peeve, images uploaded to our gallery display their file name as the title. For example a member uploads their image and doesn't change the title image, so it then displays something like DSC2849.jpg instead of for example "Oak Cabinet". I have rules displayed for image uploading in each gallery, but they are apparently ignored. Is there any way to auto enforce changing the title of an image uploaded to our galleries? Our community is gallery and image heavy, visual arts. It drives me crazy that folks are lazy and just use their default image file title. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Am getting the below on both live site and generic test site Ranged events not showing in the day view On the event guide Set an event lasting more than 2 days - say starts Friday ends Tuesday The event shows ok in both the week and monthly view Now if I go to one of the Day views (not the start or the finish date) say Saturday, Sunday or Monday - on both live and test sites the event does not show in the day view! Can anyone out there confirm if this happens for them as well?

Just a shout out to Team Invision: We upgraded a site running 4.2.4 (how old is that?) today to the current version of 4.7.15 and it went really smooth. The site has about 20,000 members (not sure how many topics), but the upgrade didn't take long at all. 😍 We have two big sites running 4.3.6, which we're going to upgrade this week too!

Recently, while administering a large board running IPS 4.x, I saw that there are a lot of performance optimizations already in place which is great. I also saw a few instances of front and back-end performance issues, and in some cases, outright crashing; one of these boils down to 2 things: Embedded iframes (like tweets) do not use the deferred loading=lazy attribute, so on topics with many embeds, pages slow to a crawl or outright crash (esp. There is this application but in IC5 something like that must become a part of the Core. Bots that sneak thru the registration process is so annoying. What's more annoying - making all members links to be moderated. This is a no-go. IPS should allow to setup some rules where a member who has yet to have X no. of posts and be a member for Y amount of days to get his posts held up for moderation if they include links. Even EDITED posts for that matter. I see a common practice when bots or smartass spammers write a generally okay comment, wait until topic gets more replies then edits that post to something else and includes backlinks. Please allow to upload font files (woff2, woff, otf, ttf...) in Media as there is currently no way to upload custom font files. These are not unsafe.

Hi. seoTitle function currently does not remove Emoji from URLs. Link with emoji becomes unfriendly. Good day folks. I create custom blocks for a lot of things, temp blocks for an event I'd like to highlite for a time period, blocks for advertisers that have limited times of showing and no longer usable, blocks that at one time seemed like a good idea, and now they aren't. As I was going through my blocks and cleaning house, I found it very difficult to actually determine which one went where and if it was being used or not. It would be nice to have a small blurb in the custom block "Details" where the block is being used, or not used at all. Perhaps something like "used on acme page" or "not active" or something of the sorts. Thanks for your consideration.

Hello, in Pages I created a new field "URL" type Then I created new article and inserted url which contains danish special character: This is result after save URL's working but it might display what I put in there. Currently, Link Filters have options to only Block and Moderate but no option to Replace with something like ****. Blocking displays the link as text which other users can still copy and paste into a browser (eg: affiliate links, solicitations, etc). Please provide an option to Replace prohibited links (displayed text as well as underlying link) with specified text. Also, please sort Link Filters in alpha order (currently not sorted). Can we enter params text like *tag=* in Link Filters or does it need valid domain with extension like amazon.com/?tag=... ?

We already have previews on hover for our Forums. Can we extend that capability to hover article previews when an inline text link is provide for an article? For example: I really love this helpful article on Spam Prevention, it is very helpful. So, when you hover your cursor over "Spam Prevention" we'd have an article popup preview appear. Thanks for your consideration.

Hey guys! We've been making use of the ModCP across our site as a way to manage actions taken by our moderators. Having spent more time in the area, I have a few suggestions I was hoping you might consider for a future version: Once a report is made, there is no way to interact with the person that reported the content or to interact with the person being reported (other than to warn them). At the bottom of the report currently is two tabs, one for the content from the person reporting, and another for moderator content. Allowing moderators to reply to the first tab if we wanted to interact with the person reporting would be helpful. (Collect more i…

If you delete a member and leave their content attributed to "guest", google webmaster tools for these urls will show you: Not a big issue but maybe add a default user page for guest posts? Maybe a guest user profile/url, sort of "catch all". Just an idea.

I just logged onto my Cloud site here and found the entire news database and all my "pro" features were missing. Basically, all the content of my site was MIA. I logged into my admin panel and just needed to refresh the license key and everything worked perfectly fine. However, the problem is that this just seemed to be a simple connection issue that I normally would not find as odd by any means, but the outcome is devastating to a site as it basically means all traffic and even all of our AdSense grinds to a stop as soon as the connection issue occurs. Hello wonderful staff. In my excitement for V5 I am wondering if you could provide us with the ideal images sizes for any sections that will allow us to add them as topic covers, course covers, etc…. I would love to be able to create templates for all the different image sizes that would be best for V5. I will be using Canva to create a master template and could even possibly share the templates with others. If you have a list of the image areas and ideal sizes that would be great. thanks

In 4.7.13 there is a strange delay in loading the JS - detected by the 3rd party - Recaptcha JS. In the analysis, there are 3 requests for the JS recaptcha (the same link from gstatic com) at each page reload. Here is an example from your site - a test on the registration page. It is the same in all the sites, for test I visited, including and my site. TBT time increases by more than a second and a half, and Reduce unused JavaScript time by more than 3.5 seconds. I find that we don't talk too much about the future of the groups and I have the impression that this party is a little neglected... while it is surely one of the fundamental bases for making the site more interactive and bringing more attractiveness to a community.
