You are checking a wrong place (global forums settings). I refer to the forums listing:

    Each forum is configured separately:

    Could contain: Text, Page

Note that Categories do not have the option and you need to expand them and check normal (Sub)forums.

Ok, finally found it, (kept clicking on Categories instead of sub categories).

    Thanks Luuuk  appreciate it.

How did you mess up with the permissions? If they are set up correctly you should be able to achieve what you are asking for.

Ok, tried it, but it just gave me an error message, or an Opps not allowed as a member so it didn't seem to work?

I want each member to be able post something but other members cannot see it.

Are you referring to the default colour of text that has been posted and therefore is being viewed, or the text that is displayed in the Editor as you are typing?

No, the text that can be viewed on my forum or its color which isn't true black and as black as it gets is easier to read, but unfortunately the default color option is a grayish black.

I will add one more thing. I went to your forum linked in your profile and my rule added temporarily via browser's inspector works fine. But note that in some topics like this one not all text is changed to red:

Could contain: Page, Text, Advertisement, Poster

That is because that specific part of the text has been either repasted from other source (preserving different color definition) or manually "colored" by the poster. Those can't be changed via CSS, the only "solution" is to edit the post to remove extra colors.

To prevent colors being copied you can configure "Paste as Plain text".

No that is fine, l am only taking about making the text color from "this" to "this"!

So l am not that fussed about a text link more about the forums overall text color.

Or if you click on the "A" here it does the same thing, default is a grayish black and l want the black one which is down the bottom.

Forgot to say, the code is for changing text in posts. If you like to change the text somewhere else then be more specific.

Yes l want the default text in posts to be darker, and can pretty much change all the other fonts using the theme editor, except the default color.

And tried to input this into CSS as a new CSS file and tried to save it, but nothing on my forum changed?

So l am asking do l need to put this in a specific area in order for the script to work?

    1. Maybe utilise merging of concurrent posts? (if the 'work' required is to manually merge those concurrent posts)

I do use that and sure it is fairly quick, but if l get a lot of new members not sure?

    1. Maybe advise the user on how to use the functionality correctly?

Already advised and put step by step text and images in the "Newbies start here" section up top, but l think he prefers to quote one person in one post then the next ones in the same way.

He is posting a lot and could help kickstart my forum after two years of trying, so probably best l merge when l can and grin and bear it.

New members who care about my forum may become moderators eventually.

  6. I have a new member that has repeatedly quoted on several occasions but used each post for one quote.

Or it is most likely he is unaware of the multi quote option, since the + quote bit looks like +quote, instead of + multi quote option and quote option.

I know that you want to keep it minimal, (as l do) but new members tend to miss it and give the mods and admin more work.

The Contact Us form, if you have forcing guests to fill out a CAPTCHA on ACP -> Members -> Spam Prevention -> CAPTCHA, will force the user to fill out a CAPTCHA.

In 4.7, we are implementing a new CAPTCHA system, hCAPTCHA into our arsenal. If you are finding Google's CAPTCHA systems are getting bypassed, you can try hCAPTCHA. I, personally, have been having success with it on my personal community.

If you want to simply turn the contact us form off for guests, you can do that in ACP -> System -> Contact Us -> Show Contact Us to.

Thanks for that info, Jim but before l go ahead is there a reason for this form of communication? It just seems to be a loophole for forum owners to get spammed by cretins who have found a work around.

I suspect this is an issue local to you or your computer. I just navigated around your site for several minutes (as a Guest) and every page is loading very quickly.

Have you tried a different browser, on the same computer which is slow with Firefox?

No, and good to know it is fine on your end. It only seems to happen late at night here, so probably too many people using broadband at that time, and thanks for the confirmation.

  9. Created my account, (as far as l can tell since it says the secret thing is active, but not much else) and inputed it into my envision site, but it keeps saying that it cannot verify it.

The Client ID and Secret should be fine, since they are a cut and paste, but the Name?

Which name, the name of the account or the sandbox account, (which is a worry sine it says example in the url)?

But either way l have tried both, and the same error occurs.

Currently tried it in another bwoser but same error, impossible to tell if it is active, and it never works on my forum.

I would really appreciate some help from others who figured this out, thanks.

  10. I admin can see it, but no one else, and have updated the area, tried to find a master switch, but it won't show, for anyone else, member or not, and also won't show in three browsers including FF.

All l can think of is an update nobbled it?

Also gone through the dashboard, but cannot find any reference, help.

I have also added text but that won't show either, ( usually have an amazon graphic, which is loaded onto the forum server, with a link).

So the output is a picture of an Excel spreadsheet? For stock analysis software?

I think it was used to compress illustrator files, so they could be saved on a mini floppy disk, (as l said ancient).

But the software did say "Do you want to save this as a millennium file".

I know Google search is useless.

Thanks, but it didn't work, and l have already tried the software mentioned.

You probably need to get more information about this "mil" thing. I do lots of conversion between formats and have never heard of it. I'm doubting it's a graphics file.

What tool wants the mil file? Is it a specially formatted text file (will it open in a text editor)?

Micro Illustrator Uncompressed Graphic, to my knowledge, or some ancient file format from when Illustrator was in its dinosaur stage, or l believe the late 90's.
