Yes I understand that – but we are talking about fairly serious money here. If a developer produces a resource which is sold to a number of people then they benefit from an economy of scale.

 

I hear what you say – but I'm afraid that the author doesn't seem to be interested in it any more so I am afraid that we have to make do and mend.

I really wish that @Adrian A. Would get back on board with this because it is extremely useful plug-in for any busy forum and there are some interesting refinements I would like to suggest as well

And I have just tested it and it now works perfectly.

I think that we may well be ready to upgrade our live site.

So I gather that even if the resource is correctly modified, we still can't use it without it being officially upgraded.

How can I manage that? It's not even for sale any more this was a make out it is not supported anymore by the developer although he does still come online

We are gradually experimenting on our test site with the implementing of PHP 8 before we go on to upgrade the live site.

I'm very pleased to say that most things seem to work but one resource – Automatic Social Promotion by @Adrian A.doesn't work and appears to be "locked".

A developer has very kindly come up with a modification which he says will solve the problem and allow it to work with the new PHP version.

We have made the modification but the resource still says "locked".

How can we unlock it please?

Don't worry, I have no doubt that it is working for you and maybe the majority of people but we are having some difficulty.

Yes, we have just installed this on new PHP eight installation of the test site and it is to be disabled because otherwise it breaks the site.

We are testing out the PHP 8 update of Invision in our test site. I'm afraid that when we activate menu plus the latest version, it brings the test site down.

There are two or three others which are doing this as well are unplugging those up separately to the developers.

Hi, is this compatible with the recent PHP 8 upgrade of Invision? Just install the latest version of sticky notes on to our test site which we are trying and when I enable sticky notes, the test site goes down.

23 other plug-ins/applications do this as well but I am calling attention to sticky notes – if you can help.

This is a fantastic plug-in by @Adrian A. But which doesn't seem to be maintained any more. I sent a message a couple of months ago to the developer but I have had no reply. This is the second most important third-party resource on our forum and I'm very worried that with PHP 8 it won't work anymore.

It would be great if we could get a response from the developer and if he isn't interested in developing it any more, maybe somebody would like to take over.

It's incredibly useful. The title of every new thread is automatically sent out to Twitter so it is a fantastic way of letting people know what is going on and what is trending on the forum.

We are followed by many journalists and other media people who find our automatic tweet system very useful.
