I left the "s" off the http in my domain name..What government entity do I go through to fix it? Or is that $15 too?

Respectfully, @Square Wheels, I would not take @AlienOrigins seriously concerning this matter. He/she started this thread expecting people to read his/her mind (not even explaining what the issue was). When folks pointed out that this warning was by design, for your protection, he/she basically said he/she does not care. 

 

As a rule of thumb  @Square Wheels you should avoid exposing your site to anything that could cause it harm. Keeping your site safe is not going to hinder your usage. My test site has 13 different developments, for example (domaintaken.org), and everything works. I do not need to make my site less secure to have things function. Anyone telling you not to worry about security, in general, I do not believe has your best interest in mind.

No its not answered....Never has been answered.  I have as of yet to get a direct satisfactory answer to this. So I quit trying as of this thread. And the reason I no longer use the software, that and having to deal with that dumb ass Namecheap hosting.

Installing some other software on the same server is not resolving your problem. Other software may not do you the courtesy of warning you that there is a problem, but the problem is global to all PHP based applications.

You seem to think because your other car doesn't come equipped with air bags that a new one with air bags obviously has a terrible defect that makes it crash spontaneously into walls. So you'll drive the old one because that's safer....

Not putting electrical tape on anything.. Installing other SOFTWARE works well because IPB is the ONLY ONE where I get that issue! No problem with anything but IPB...And you want to make analogies? What if one car as a 5.7 liter engine and the other is a 1.8 liter does that mean because the 1.8 is smaller that it cannot do 60mph down the interstate? Forum software is like cars you get a bad one in all of them....Does this issue mean that IPB is bad? No...But it also does not correct itself even after my host corrects the problem on the. server it comes back!!!!!!!!

Either way the thread is a moot point because I took the software down and off the server...

Thanks...It don't matter I deleted the site and software off the server..Not interested in pulling the teeth out of a great white.

If your host allows for recursive php.ini files then you only need to upload to your root, if not you will need to upload to all folders 🙂

I will try this if I decide to reinstall it....

Too Add: Tried it and it don't work...Basically telling me I am exposing sensitive php functions that could compromise the board...

I'm using it daily, in fact I'm also handling the dev tickets so I'm aware of almost all the common issues and bugs our clients run into and I can tell you that we're not aware of any email issues in the software.

Have you tried the recent IPS release?If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Possible..Then again at my age it could be a default setting in the cerebral cortex gone haywire...I will download it and install it if the php crap is still there I will delete the software.

Don't worry about it..If you have not seen it then your obviously not using the software..Thanks for the attempted help anyway..

No e-mail error..It occurred after the install with a little message saying "fatal php" something or another....Been a while so I don't recall the exact line....

Was that issue ever corrected? Have not used IPB in a while and was wondering....It was a pain in the ass to get my Host to change that and if I still have to go through it I will just use a free forum software.....Thanks...

When I run an e-mail test I get this:

IPS\Email\Outgoing\Exception: email_test_mailfunction_disabled (0)

Am I missing something?

How do I disable this...If your logged out of the forum it still lets you post with an e-mail address and I don't want that...

I have not messed with any of that cause I do not know what I am doing when it comes to that...I got one other thing I will try and get back to this thread shortly.

OK...I had placed an Advertisement below the header, I removed it and things went back to the way they were...I don't know what the Advertisement had to do with it.

All of a sudden the blocks I had on the forum have started showing up at the bottom of the forum instead of to the right! When I go to add blocks to the right there is no place to add them.

Ok I will give you that one..All I have is IPB Forum...Now just got to figure out how I can use it, when I do I will buy it.

Yeah what you don't say is that you have to have a $1000 worth of add ons installed in order for it to work

I would find it even more impressive if I could figure out how to edit the footer. Never mind this...I figured it out...Is a great theme though.
