  1. I like it the way it is. It provides context which is great for SEO and people’s understanding of the content. Take this Google search result from one of my sites: The title “LUBR” wouldn’t make any sense at all. But the forum title makes it clear that this is a font identification request in relation to “LUBR” and the site title makes it clear that this is a search result from a typography website. And if you know that site already, seeing that brand in the title will increase the chance of clicking that link. Everything works together perfectly. Sure, the title can get long this way and might be cut off, but I would still say that overall, the benefits outweigh potential downsides.
  2. The problem I described in the linked topic is not limited to the newer subscription system, but applies to product subscriptions as well.
  3. When you change the price in the ACP, you should be asked whether you want to apply the change to new purchases or all purchases. That’s the only and proper spot to affect all future invoices. Yeah, known issue without a proper solution. Feel free to add your comment here: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/466659-expired-subscriptions-must-be-treated-like-no-subscription/
  4. It’s a database option (under Homepage Options)
  5. No, there is no option for this with Pages. I am describing a possible solution here: https://www.opentype.space/academy/course/bonus-lessons/creating-exclusive-articles-with-pages-databases-r8/ (The page uses the described method, so you won’t see the full article as a guest.)
  6. You can’t access a user’s Pages database records with a query string. The different database views are served via templates and those templates get variables with the data to be shown fed into them, like “records in this category”. There is no such thing for “records of a specific user”. Someone would have to code that from scratch. The MySQL queries, the templates, everything. It’s not a feature of Pages currently. The Blogs app however is centered around this concept.
  7. By the way: this request could be extended to all nodes. Forums, Albums, et cetera. Setting this up as ‘external link’ would be fine as long as the system recognizes the node as an active menu entry. I remember that this was possible in 3.4.
  8. And further changes are on the horizon. https://haerting.de/en/insights/eprivacy-regulation-eu-council/ This sounds good by the way:
  9. Was it an admin? That’s the only scenario I could think of where this should happen.
  10. That’s what closed/private clubs do.
  11. Categories work like folders. You need to open one after another to see what is inside. It’s not just a matter of templates, it’s what data the IPS code offers for listing views. So, no, there is no solution. If you really need it, it would be a paid job for a developer.
  12. Wouldn’t be much of a problem to download the files, mass-process them locally and then upload them again. There are lots of (even free) apps for bulk image optimization. I recently used ImageOptim for Mac. As simple as dragging the image folder on the app.
  13. Just to be sure this doesn’t get overlooked: The software does control size and compression already, just not in a highly optimized way. For the image size, there is System → Posting → Images and Videos. And for the image compression: System → Files → Image settings
  14. The answer hasn’t changed. No, it is not possible to change when the invoices are being created. (I agree by the way that from a practical and legal perspective the invoices are being created too early. But that’s how it currently works.)
  15. Sorry, but you did not do that at all. First of all, you are in the support forum. It is specifically meant to help you with the way the software works currently. If you have a feature request, put it in the Feature Suggestion forum. And if you use that forum, explain the improvement you would like to see and why it would be helpful. Just asking “why it is the way it is” is a waste of everyone’s time if you are not actually interested in the “why” and instead want to make a feature request. And it is really dishonest to take all the answers to your own question and then misrepresent them as if it would mean that they would not want to improve the software. Based on your actual question and the forum you are in, you got exactly the right answers. You should better say “thank you” instead of complaining. Asking “why” doesn’t mean “I would like this feature improved in a certain way”.
  16. No, it is not possible to change when the invoices are being created. You could consider not exposing your subscriptions to guests by not giving guests permissions to buy them.
  17. If multiple of those memberships should be possible, you must indeed use secondary groups. If you want only one membership at a time, keep primary groups and set the product permissions so that only members without any of these groups can purchase the product.
  18. Could be a simple setting: “background task for all” or “background task just for many emails”. I would always choose the first option. I have some communities on the same server using PHP mail and some using Amazon SES over SMTP. The delay for SMTP is significant and very frustrating for the users. If feels like something isn’t working. The notifications taking 5 minutes to go out would certainly be the lesser evil.
  19. You might not have noticed it before and now you are connecting it with the update, but it has always been this way when emails are set to use SMTP. I agree that it should always use a background task, but that is better posted in the feedback forum.
  20. There are dozens of types of these “effects”. 𝔅𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢𝔯, 𝒮𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉, 𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕓𝕝𝕖-𝕊𝕥𝕣𝕦𝕔𝕜, Ⓒⓘⓡⓒⓛⓔⓓ, uʍop-ǝpısd∩ … If you really want to ban it, make it part of your rules, just as you would with questionable content. Not everything can be prevented through technical measures.
  21. There is no styling applied. Those are mathematical characters, which are meant to be displayed like that. Just like you can post emoji without requiring styling.
  22. It’s a Pages page. You could create a custom CSS file in the templates section and then activate that for just this page. That would be the cleanest solution.
  23. Amazon SES it getting a lot of traction here recently. Needs some sys admin knowledge though to get it all going. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone.
