  1. We could not locate the item you are trying to view. Error code: 2D161/2 Crashes on 4.1.8. Support option was unable to recover. Back to 4.1.7.
  2. The programmer left some screen shots running on V4, but it is nowhere stable enough for prime time, according to the programmer. It appears to be a pretty big project. I'm betting it mostly had to be written from scratch. This will be a major application that can be added to the majority of websites. I just hope the programmer goes far enough in implementing the necessary features to make it al all inclusive utility that will bring in the users country map/name into full display throughout the core, including the option to automatically add the new validated users country of origin based on their geolocation where the account is created. Also something that reminds (nags) existing users that they need to be added by selecting 'Yes' and the reminder goes away... This is one of those apps that would be worth paying for if it gets enough features added...
  3. I can only speak for my site; I don't run a fantasy website, so anything that brings in REAL VERIFIABLE information trumps anything allowing fake information to be added. I had hundreds of users with disposable email addresses in IPB3.x. I went through and weeded them all out before updating to IPB v4, and banned the disposable email servers. Not saying there are more popping up all the time, which is usually caught over time and added to the list. I don't follow this app anymore because it simply didn't go far enough to be really useful, to me. Also, because Members Map is in the process of being updated, finally... It goes way beyond what this app does in collecting, collating, and bringing a visual effect showing each users country location on a world map. Hoping he expands the functions into the users account information. This is one fun app that I'd actually pay for.
  4. I posed a question and not only did you come back with an answer, but threw in a personal attack on me, just like the previous reply. You have no idea who I am, and my opinions do matter to a great number of people, no matter what you say. When question are posted, just answer the questions and leave your personal thoughts out of forum. If you don't like what you read then don't reply, and if you do reply don't bully the user.
  5. If you really want to control the opinions or questions about one of your products, than I might suggest, dropping the forums, and only allow users to post to the Market Place after they have bought the product, because you have to actually buy the product to post a question (review). If I have questions about a product, I will not buy it until all my questions are answered. Just because you don't like the questions posted doesn't mean you should come back with a personal attack on one of your clients.
  6. I'm pretty sure that the majority of sites would prefer their users to post their real location. Allowing the user to pick their location is nothing more than sites allowing disposable email addresses. Probably not everyone thinks like me but I'm pretty sure the majority does. There is just too much fakery going on with website user accounts.
  7. I thought there was an actual option that tied the flag to their geo location where they registered? Giving users the option to knowingly cloak there real location makes this app not so useful. Just another toy for the users.
  8. I had no idea innovation was dead, unless someone else resource could be stolen...
  9. Well, ok. However I just don't see how these to will work seamlessly without bringing the two together. Maybe he needs to be adding a function in that the Members Country function does? For me, I won't install two separate apps for this one function.
  10. I'm saying you need to integrate both tools so they are working together. When a user registers they need to be automatically added to the members map. It all needs to work together. Your Members Country automatically detects the country where a user is registering from, and Members Map does not. The current members map is a user specified option to be added. Both apps need to be working together and this might mean you may need to start from scratch to give end users that function. Plus the original programmer of Members Map isn't showing any interest in updating, other than saying in the future.
  11. Now if you could integrate Members map, I'd be on this, and a lot of others would be...
  12. Just to be 100%. Disable Tutorials prior to updating to 4.1 and then upgrade Tutorials to latest? The correct way to update?
  13. How do you know its the theme that is causing the problems. Have you been working with the theme developer, or even tried the theme in question. I'm not saying it is, or it isn't just letting other users know to be mindful... Tutorials and FAQ are not the same and shouldn't be used for the same. I wouldn't use Tutorials to create FAQ's, and for sure wouldn't create Tutorials in FAQ...
  14. This also happened to me and I had to request a refund. Damn shame because its a very nice theme. Hope they can get this fixed. Tutorials is a MUST for my site. Can you elaborate a little more on 'theme is pretty messed up'?
  15. I have Comments turn off and I still see the comment count when I view the Tutorials: Is there a way to not show this if the Comments is turned off. I may have missed a configuration?
  16. Are you able to select what type of news is displayed? Can you PM me a look see link?
  17. Did you pay for the payment tracker? If not then all additions have to be maually added.
  18. I have a piece of PHP code that I'd like to execute inside a Tutorial to display statistics. I just wasn't sure if there was as existing function to do this.
  19. Is it possible to execute PHP code from Tutorials?
  20. save worked... Didn't know that option was available at that level, good to know. Thx...
  21. Unable to get option to work: Quick edit (ajax) of tutorial's title on category view (image below)Hovering on title brings up the left screen, clicking brings up the tutorial. What is the process to edit the title. It appears you are showing the same screen in both examples?
  22. Bug report: It was working. The only thing that was changed, I updated my donation block. I also tried updating Tutorials, and it was successful, but the option is still broken (missing).
  23. Again, I Do Not want anything custom built for me. I never said anything even related to having anything custom done for me. If this is not something your user base could benefit from them scrap it. I really don't care. The default support system is antiquated and cumbersome to use in Tutorials. I've tried to give you an alternative that might be useful for larger sites that draw more users, and a way to keep the support items organized. The existing support system you started out with, and is the default, is nothing more than taking ten Marketplace applications, creating one topic and dumping all the support for all ten into one topic. That's not a very well thought out support system. I gave you another option that might be better, Creating another button that when activated would drop a user into an existing forum that was unique to that Tutorial. The admin COULD point every Tutorial to the same forum if they wanted. I also suggested a template be sent with each support request. What you ended up doing was half of what I suggested; The alternate support button does drop the user into a single unique forum. However, f you have 20 Tutorials in the same category it's now going to allow the end user to post a unique support topic for everyone of those 20 tutorials into one forum. Not very well thought out. I don't need the built in support system, or the button to send the user to a Forum. I can just create a button that is included in the top right of my tutorial that does this. It's like you said that some of this has been in there from the inception of Tutorials. IPB has progressed and it's nice when the developers applications progress right along with IPB. Just updating a program to work from version to version is not the best thing to do in the long run. You are correct, I'm done. I'll just be posting when I run into bugs. Took me 5 minutes:
  24. Your answer above is confusing. It looks like you are confirming my question but you say 'No'. I have created a category. Now I select the below and turn it on (Green). Then it allows me to pick one forum. I have 15 tutorials under that one category, so ALL 15 tutorials under that one category will send the user to the same forum, correct. If this is the way it works it's still only half of what my suggestion was originally. Its oing to be very difficult for users to go to that one forum to search, or scan specific posts for a specific tutorial. All the topics will be mixed. Plus over several years is could become a nightmare to manage. The button needs to be unique for each tutorial so the user can be sent to any specific forum (URL). The admin could still send multiple Tutorials under one category to the same forum if they so chose to, or they could send all 15 Tutorials under that one category to 15 different forums What you see is what I have. I see you have a flag for the US. Do I need to pick a language? Could this be why the install failed?
