IPB 4.1.18.2: Causes the custom items in Profile Information not to display on new entries. Users before updating to 4.1.18.2 will display correctly in Profile Information. New users Profile Information entered in does not show for accounts created after updating to 4.1.18.2

Just updated to 4.1.13.2 and the database problem is still there. Not sure if the database problem IPS fixed was related to this?

After updating to 2.1.0 I went into support and went into Something isn't working to fix something else and I'm getting the below and IPB doesn't fix it. The above could have happed prior to updating to 2.1.0 as it has been months since I've used the support option to check things. I've tried it several times and it's not getting repaired.

Using IE when I go into Download file under File Actions I select Edit Details I get The website cannot display the page Using FF when I go into Download file under File Actions I select Edit Details I get a blank webpage. The only addition lately was Similar Content on Post Screen . If I disable this plugin I am able to Edit Details for the download with no problems. I'm using the latest release.

Hopefully there will be a global option for those that want something static across all apps.

It's about time something like this was made available. It's one of those options that you would think would be included with the core. I don't buy may plugins/Apps but this will be one of those have to have ones. @Adriano FariaThank you...

@Batnik You get one shot at the setting up the database. Your only option is restart. @chilihead The emojis problem came after 4.x was released so there nothing IPS could do for existing IPB clients that had already converted to IPB 4.x. If this is a paid for program you need request your money back. The description of the file should have clearly stated that it would only work with the UTF8MB4 character set. If the seller gives you a hard time then go to IPS, and they will be more than fair. However if you purchased it outside of the Marketplace than you at the mercy of the seller. Invision Power Systems did a lousy job all the way around on informing their client base on the issue of when to setup UTF8MB4.

There is absolutely no upside for IPS to invest one second into this project. IPS's only concern is with the new 4.x installs, which, by default automatically sets the character set to UTF8MB4. When you upgraded from 3.x you had one shot at the conversion. This was not something IPS made a point of telling anyone., especially early adopters of 4.x. Could they do this, sure, but again, there is no upside for IPS...

In the config don't you have to set: $INFO['sql_charset'] = '****'; to: $INFO['sql_charset'] = 'utf8mb4'; Did your 3.x automatically migrate the tables to character set UTF8MB4

Yes, it is working as designed by IPS. Certain criteria that must be matched in order to move to the newer character set (UTF8MB4). Not everyone will be migrated and it's based MySQL version. The current IPB converter will not convert to UTF8MB4 if you are already on IPB4. If you are moving from IPB3 to IPB4 it will migrate, but I believe you must set the config to UTF8MB4 prior to the upgrade (?).

I requested this a long time ago. Seems like a good idea to me. Also, how about nag of some sort for users that were already added prior to Maps being setup. The nag would have a button to actually add their present IP location. Once the nag has been responded to and the user added, the nag would never appear again.

The thing would be for the programmer to add these translations in. All he needs to do is solicit for users to submit. The App is definitely worth supporting with dollars, but for me there needs to be a Pro version available with separate advanced support where advanced features can be requested, and added. There are a multitude of places in the users profile, and other places where Maps data can be plugged in denoting the users location, either by text or map graphic.

Is it possible to have the thread restarted so support can start fresh with IPB 4.x and not include support for 3.x. Possibly a new version should have its own new file download which would start the support thread from scratch. It appears that the basic usage is pretty much as 3.x. Is it possible to request custom programming to include specific options? 1) I'd like to be able to add an option at the new user application that would display Location; and either allow them to manually add their location or add it automatically by detecting GPS and display that in the location field in the new user registration. Admin sets the choice. 2) I'd like to be able to select a nag screen for those existing users that have not set their location. You should have backed up your live 4.1.7 install including the tables. You will need to rollback that way. Don't install a later version or serious problems will occur. If you don't have a backup to rollback to, contact IPS and they will most likely be able to get you going again.

You probably should roll back to 4.1.7, install tutorials, Update to 4.1.8, and then save the order. I had to roll back once to fix it...

It's possible the developer may have forgotten to update the version number. It appears to install correctly on 4.1.7. Will update to 4.1.8 to see if it works...
