I don`t know if this is happening only to me or not, but everytime i open a ticket i receive a response in not less than 48h.
It is very frustrating when i have some little issue that can be fixed in 5 min and i have to wait 2 days for an answer.
Usually i resolve it myself after some research.

You definitely have to review your support service, isn`t this why i pay 25$ every 6 months?

We are investigating the possibility of offering a chat service for IPB directly from IPS.

This chat service would run inside of your IPB install much like Gallery or Blog however the actual exchange of chat messages would be handled by IPS servers. The high volume of transactions needed for a chat room would probably get you banned from most web hosting providers and, even if you have high-end hosting, it requires a specially tuned server to perform well. You can forget that headache and let us handle the transactions. Chat room statistics and access to log archives will of course be available for owners.

    Testing

For the time being, we will only have the chat room open here on our company forums when an IPS staff member opens it. We are looking to test both the interface you use for chatting and the back-end server performance so we need online staff to monitor both sides of the exchange. So keep an eye for the chat link to appear in the top navigation or a "who's chatting" area to show up on the home page under statistics. When you see this then you know the room is available for testing :)

Please post bugs in the bug tracker under the IP.Chat category. You can post feedback here in the feedback forum or just reply to this topic. Please keep in mind this would be a version 1.0.0 so, although we can add all sorts of cool stuff over time, we are focusing on a nice, stable chat room right now. Things like private conversations, multiple rooms, and more are on our list but we must perfect the base chat room before adding on all the extras.

Please note that this is the first test of many users in the chat room so there will probably be issues. We will also be doing server-level testing so you might get kicked out now and again or the service may abruptly close so don't take it personally ;). Your feedback on all areas of the chat from features through usability down to speed of chat responses is appreciated.

    Pricing

The pricing of the chat service is yet to be announced and will be based on how many people you have in your chat room at one time. Details of the package levels and pricing will be made available at a later date. The good news is that the first chat package level will be free for active IPB license holders. We hope you enjoy that extra benefit to being a license holder.

I have some great ideas for features. Here they are:

    1. In the online users list, the user names should be linked to the user's profile and in the color of their member group.
    2. Users with administrator access or users with chat mod access should be in a separate area on the top of the list. This way, they are publicly marked as chat moderators so everyone knows who's who.
    3. Chat mods should be able to login to the chat and remain invisible until they choose to show themselves.
    4. Mods can "mute" a user by preventing them from chatting for a certain amount of time or indefinitely.
    5. Mods can ban a user from the room once or for any amount of time.
    6. Moderator features and options can be viewed in an ajax box.
    7. Users can private message others inside the chat. This is simply a private conversation (it can be recorded of the user ops for it) between two users.
    8. On the sidebar on the forums, there should be a list of everyone currently in the chat room. (Admins can turn on or off this feature)
    9. Admins should be able to set a title for the chat room, a general message that users see upon entering it, and send messages at any time during the chat.
    10. Admins can setup multiple chat rooms. The chat rooms can have a cap on the number of users inside of it and can be password protected.

These are all the feature suggestions I have at the moment. I'll post more when I think of some.

I've never had issues with IPS support, they are the best considering how many users we have and the limited staff number.

Here's my first round of suggestions :)

1 - It would be nice if the "Add Another Choice" button with Polls would add the text box below the box my cursor is currently in (and renumber the options accordingly). Right now if I want to go back and add an option I have to cut/paste to reorder each option below it.

2 - If you're feeling adventurous you could also add a few small buttons to the poll form like "A-Z", "Z-A" that will automatically sort the poll options alphabetically. This is good to use if the poll maker doesn't want to come off as biased (adding options they like first)

3 - Add a "Force Uninstall" option for applications. Basically the same thing as the uninstall routine but it catches/suppresses any errors. Good if the admin tried to manually uninstall an application or something went wrong in the uninstall and left the install partially in tact.

Great release by the way, I'm loving it :D

I got some suggestions for changes and futures for IPB v3.0.0 and future versions.

Requested changes: When viewing a profileBelow the users photo, there should be buttons similar to find topic/posts for displaying all gallery/blog/issues. The following texts: "<username> hasn't added any friends yet." and "<username> has no profile comments yet. Why not say hello?" seems misplaced as they ain't skinned properly into they're respecting areas. Also when there is comments and friends, it seems a little off because it ain't skinned in with the title of the area (other boxes are skinned in with background, etc. Should also might conider placing the comment box below the comments to match the forums setup? The image displayed next to the post comment box should be larger. As it is, it's waisting a huge amount of whitespace to the right of the editor, that could be used by increasing the image size. This would also make you able to see the image, instead of a colordot that seem misplaced due to the size of the image vs. editor/other images. TabsThe tabs only show the most recent topics, posts, images, blogs, issues. This should be made more clear. Maybe by adding a link for showing all, or changing the text to most recent images/blog/topics/posts/issues. In the about me tab, the signature should be removed. This is a place where the user is meant to talk about himself, and the signature don't have anything to do there, as it just seems messy and strange. When a tab don't have anything to show, it just states "Message". This is confusing, and should be changed to something more describing/helpful. When viewing the gallery tab, there is a lot of wasted whitespace! When viewing the gallery, i can fit two more images in the columns. There is also a huge amount of whitespace between the image and the information below. Most of this information could really be removed, as it's still showed when viewing the image itself. You should be able to see where you got +/- reputation from (the posts). This should only be shown to the member that received the reputation. When you see your own profile, and you don't have a blog/gallery etc., there should be stated under those tabs, or under the "Show members topic/posts" button something like "You don't have a gallery/blog. Press here to make one now!" or something to make the member more aware that they can do so. Considering the fact that most members almost never use they're control panel, a lot of users will never know they even can make it!
Requested changes: Other technique. This can also be used with the images stacked on top of each other instead of next to each other. When uploading files/images, there should be displayed allowed file types somewhere. This can be displayed in a box just like the one used when viewing who voted in polls.Performance mode: it don't show anywhere that you are using performance mode, this should be added in a notification or something to the latest news box. Can be something like "The site is currently running in performance mode to handle all the traffic. This means that some futures is temporarily disabled and/or changed to allow the site to run more smoothly."Let us be able to minimize forum rules in topics and the related forum. No use to have them taking up space after you've read them a 1000 times already...The post icons for forums: there really need to be added a read icon for closed and moved topics. Also, the icon showed when you have posted need to be changed. Currently, it looks like there is an attachment. Should be a pencil or something, and then you can use the current for topics with attachments. You can also consider just using the normal images, and add a pencil and/or paperclip (as used now)(two different places, so both can be used) with a transparent background over the normal image. This would remove the need for extra icons, and would allow it to be used on _EVERY_ topic, including hot, moved and closed. When translating, you sometimes skip some of the phrases, and it can some times be a hassle to find out where they are, so you should consider adding a "Show untranslated strings", just like the "show outdated strings" (never seen it tbh), or add the untranslated to the start or end of the language pack.
Requested futures (for later versions?)When working in ACP with areas that are using permissions, please add a dropdown-box that allows you to copy all the permissions from the selected area (forum, category, addon categories, etc.). This will allow you to add e.g. forums at a largly increased speed, and with no errors when dealing with a lot of permission masks (as used by a lot of forums, myself are using at least 10 different masks), and advanced mask permissions. This is a future that's been needed for quite a while by a lot of customers. When clearing out cookies/temp files or using a new computer, the state of the sidepanel and forums ain't saved (open/closed). Hoping you can change it so the state is saved using ajax when status changes, and then load the current state into a cookie or something when logging on, to save extra queries each time you browse the forum index. You really need some way to temperately cache text from the editors. When typing a large thread, this can be a issue (see below):You accidentally press a button that loads another page (can also be mouse and keyboard shortcuts), and when using back/forward in the browser, all is gone! (this is not tested in v3, but was an issue in v2) When submitting a topic that generated an error, due to too much text/images/emotions etc, the you had to go a page back to change it. The issue there was that the text almost never was there when you got back. I saw mods that displayed the text in a editor when this acured, so you could copy it before going back, hence solving the issue. Both above have happened to me several times (once when writing this, that deleted a _LARGE_ page with text...

Oh, and i tried to make this easer to read, but the editor kept eating up my empty lines and spaces after each submit.

Will be back with more later...You need to change the way the hover images is displayed. In order to get rid of the problem with no background while it is loading upon hovering, you can use this

    Hello everyone

I have a small suggestion to make
The reason why a member is banned is not shown to the banned member when he logs in after being banned.
This feature is there in vBulletin
Would like to see it in IPB also

    Do you agree with me???
