You can either rename the group in ACP and move all the members in it to another group newly created (with the old name), or you can edit this line in the conf_global.php file on your server:

  'member_group' => 3,

Replace the default member group ID 3 with the new group you want to use.

It would really help if the Group ID was added to the Group list in the ACP.

Feel free to make a suggestion for this in our Feedback forum but I think it's super rare that a regular client would need to know the group ID. Like even for this solution, it is as just as easy to make a new member group which users get promoted to if you wanted something like a "New Members" group which is less than 10 posts and a "Regular Members" group which is 10 posts and above. Then use group promotions to promote between them.

In a scenario that you wish to know the member group ID, it is in the URL when you're editing it in the ACP.

THIS!

Same with the member id, just open the group or member in the ACP and check the URL

This was also my first idea, but I have 30.000 members and the process was stopping in the middle of moving so I even had to use my backup to restore the forum.
