Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Genestoy Posted October 10 Posted October 10 My server is rejecting emails because my forum is sending out too many emails because so many members are following topics. They have advised me to check settings in the ACP to see if there is a way to slow this down by maybe only sending that member 1 email a day instead of every time somebody posts? Is there a way to do that and how? Al;so is there a way to stop all members following content at once setting somewhere? I realize they can follow again but how to stop all for right now? Thanks
Gary Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Hi @Genestoy, If you go to your AdminCP -> Members -> Member Settings -> Notifications You'll find some settings in there that may assist in alleviating the number of emails being sent to your members when following topics/content. The one that might be most useful is at the bottom of the page, Email Limit. Does that help?
Genestoy Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Unfortunately there is no "Email Limit" in there for me. Running 4.7.17 I am also seeing this message at the top of that same page.... Web Push Unavailable Unfortunately, your server does not have the GMP PHP extension installed. Please contact your host or consider switching to Invision Cloud Community which has Web Push Notifications enabled.
Gary Posted October 10 Posted October 10 They'll be the solutions to resolve your issue. Is there any reason why you haven't/cannot upgrade to the latest version of Invision Community (currently 4.7.18)?

The reality is however, if you are having issues with email limits, it would be best to source a suitable email provider Your hosting company would need to assist with the GMP extension issue
Genestoy Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Thanks to both of you. I did find the "Email Limit" under the "Followed Content" section and set it to the 1 a day email. I also contacted my host and they enabled the GMP for me (which I could have done myself if I knew where to do it in the cpanel). Thanks again Gary, Jim M and Marc 3
