WebCMS Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) 🥚 🐈⬛ Please check the emojis in the title with strange chars around them that are messing up the URL (see this topic's URL). The invisible chars can be deleted by doing a backspace around the egg emoji and (make its URL part clean) - egg-recipes-🥚🥚🥚 but not completely clean for the cat (was able to delete some invisible chars) - cooking-with-cats-🐈%E2%80%8D⬛🐈%E2%80%8D⬛ I copy/pasted the emojis from the editor into the title field and get these invisible chars. Here is the cat emoji from iPhone with strange chars after some cleanup around them - it is not possible to place the cursor between the cat and the leftover square as they both together seem to be a single char. opentype Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) This is working as intended. The ‘black cat emoji’ is a combination of multiple Unicode values. Cat + Combination Character + Black square. Those ‘strange characters’ are a necessary part of the emoji and they all need to be encoded. Removing them changes their meaning. For example, for the emoji representing people, skin color and gender are represented this way. People won’t accept that as they might accept a cat changing its color. And sure, if you delete parts of it, it will break. Like removing the combination character will result in 🐈⬛ instead of 🐈⬛. Edited February 21 by opentype Marc, WebCMS and Jim M 2 1
