I_cant_Swim_ Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 howdy folks, we got a spam wave rolling in this morning despite 1) the requirement to register by email 2) the requirement to accept guidelines and the privacy policy and 3) having the "invisible" captcha option on. I switched to the second captcha level, but that didn't stop the wave entirely. So in addition to the above, I've now added the requirement for moderator approval for the first post. That seems to have worked. Just a heads up. Marc 1
Marc Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 question and answers would also be a good thing to have switched on, and hCaptcha appears to be more reliable in stopping things.
I_cant_Swim_ Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) Marc, hello. Thanks for the suggestions. Where do I find the "CMS"? I have to specify that for keyCaptcha. Also, would you use Q&A in addition or instead of the above? I guess you're going to say "choose what works best for you" 🙂 but is there something else I should know? Remember, I'm an amateur. You will have to create an account at the below link for that to obtain your key. https://www.hcaptcha.com/signup-interstitial Have you enabled the Spam Defense from your Admin Panel? 3 hours ago, I_cant_Swim_ said: would you use Q&A in addition or instead of the above? Personally I would use the Q&A on top of the other anti spam protection. Edited November 16, 2023 by Miss_B I_cant_Swim_ 1

I_cant_Swim_ Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Hi, yes. When I want to set up keyCapcha, I get this window: The info says "Specify CMS installed in your site" with the info below it as shown in the image. That's it. The dropdown list provides options (Bitrix, Concrete5, DLE, Drupal ElkArte IP.Board, Joomla, Movable Type, MyBB, OpenCart, Phorum, phpBB, Pligg, SMF, vBulletin, Woltlab BB, Wordpress, Xenforo, Xoops, other CMS.) oh @Nathan Explosion Thank you. Posts crossed. Got it.
