Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Underwood Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Hello, We have encountered a problem with images uploaded from iPhone devices. Images taken in portrait mode are not correctly recognized by our forum and are displayed in landscape mode, which affects the overall user experience. I would like to inquire if there is a solution to address this image orientation issue. Could this be related to a compatibility issue between our IPB forum and the orientation metadata of images taken from iOS devices ? We are committed to providing an optimal user experience for our members and are determined to resolve this issue promptly. Your expertise and guidance would be greatly appreciated. If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Jim M Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Please ensure that EXIF extension for PHP is installed on your server. This is required to detect and then have our software perform rotation of images.

Underwood Posted September 5, 2023 Author Posted September 5, 2023 It seems to have issue with EXIF on some pictures, not possible to change orientation manually ?
Marc Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 If this is the case, there is indeed an open bug report for this. Its worth noting there is no simple fix for this, so its very likely going to be v5 before you see a proper resolution
