Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
audiyo Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 I've received several complaints from members that they are no longer receiving notifications from their forums. Already verified that their notification settings are set properly.
Jim M Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 You will want to check that your emails are sending first by going to ACP -> System -> Email Settings -> check the email confirguration to ensure it is correct for your hosting/email provider. If so, click the Email Error Log button to see if any errors. If there are no errors, try sending an email using the "Test Settings" button.

All of the settings seem to be correct, and the test emails are landing in my inbox properly. Could there be another issue that could be causing other members to not receive their notification emails?

Would verify that the user(s) have configured their notifications to receive emails correctly. If this issue pertains to followed content notifications, please keep in mind that if you follow a category, you will not get reply notifications to content items by design. You need to also follow the content item. For example, if you follow a forum, you would need to also follow the topic in order to receive notifications about replies in that topic. If all the above is configured correctly, we would require an example user's display name, the type of notification they aren't receiving, and if a follow content notification, the content item URL they are expecting to receive a notification but are not.
audiyo Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 Thanks, I have verified that they have their notification configurations set correctly. They received notifications properly for a while, but recently haven't gotten any for over a month or so.
Randy Calvert Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Are you able to send a test message to them? Their mail server may be rejecting emails from your server.
Marc Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Check what is mentioned by Randy above. You should also contact your email host if you have deliverability issues
